What does them selling out of their limited stock have anything to do with quality?

Is there no release this month? Past releases were announced by this time in previous months.

I think the majority of people do feel like the offshoot beers are not that good, but fear missing out. Most people will buy anything as long as it's limited, even if there are better options sitting on a shelf at the local store.

I thought everyone knew that Offshore Beer Co. was purely a profit taking measure by Castanea.

I will say that I've enjoyed drinking most of the Offshoot beers (though it would be great if someone from Bruery/Offshoot would admit that something went terribly wrong with the canning process for Fashionably Late). So it's a decent (ie Horse and Hall Monitor) to actually pretty great (I loved Line Cutter) collection of canned IPAs that are really convenient for me to buy.

My only real issue is that I think it should be the lower end of the price range instead of the higher end; if the prices/quality don't change by the end of the year, I'm not sure I will continue buying without my membership discount...

Under the theory that they are selling out, it is a success. However, the word is getting out that these are average at best and expensive. So if it continues to be this way I would bet that people will stop buying and then they will be losing money.
Right now Offshoot is like a new fad, fads tend to do great at the start, but give it 6 months and if it really isn't good they struggle and likely close the brand. I do not want Offshoot to close because I love their method of delivery, I would just prefer them to make better beer at a little cheaper price.

Deny, deny, deny. Then lie, lie, lie.10 years from now those who did drink FL start developing breast then maybe they will come out and admit. Or will they still resist? Or remain silent? I still think their Hole Monitor is the best one so far. Just my opinion. :grinning:

E-mail went out about the July 27th releases. I'm actually pretty excited about Pleasant Town: they describe the beer without calling it "hazy", "juicy", or even "unfiltered"! God bless!

People are more apt to complain than praise publicly which can lead to a false negative perception.

The rating disagree with your "majority of people do feel like the offshoot beers are not that good" statement

    Offshoot - 4.16
    Monkish - 4.18
    Noble - 3.93
    Green Cheek - 4.09

Not quite fair comparisons. Noble has 3600 reviews across many releases and beer types, and offshot has only 39 reviews.

Yeah, not a great sample size to be saying Offshoot is second to only Monkish...

Also, Offshoot ranks lower on other review sites, but again, smaller sample size...

Also, given the price, scarcity, and effort that goes into acquiring these, and their one off nature, I'm not sure you could directly compare review scores with a product that's on shelves year round? Surely there is some confirmation bias to be factored into scores?

Also they sold people trash, and never owned up to it, and they probably only exist so that the people bought the Bruery can make the most money possible.

But to each their own! That's what makes beer so fun!

    Cheers!

That also depends on which website/app your comparing.

My statement is mainly from direct interaction with people at the tasting room and other members I know. I will admit saying that people don't think they are good is a bit harsh. I usually get a meh response from the people I am sharing with.

I was more trying to convey even if they are average, the fact they are limited makes people still want them. People tend to go crazy for limited, regardless of quality.

I'm looking forward to it. I'm in it for the journey. Each release has showed progression. Price is a bit high...but whatever.

The can art this round looks phenomenal.

Maybe we need to seriously check our tastebuds.

i told myself i would skip this month but dammit they are intriguing me with a straight up west coast style ipa. isnt that where they should have started?

its gonna be tough for offshoot tho, fieldwork is releasing a few cans this weekend. beer money might be going to them  and they have purty can art too
