Governor of Oregon is sending Ninkasi total domination ipa, and Ohio's governor will be sending beer from columbus brewing. I thought it was pretty cool to read that. I wonder if they'll be sending the beer by mail?

I haven't had Total Domination to be able to compare, but I'll vouch for the booty that Ohio's governor is putting up as being a valid wager offering. I like that beer.

Interesting that they're wagering craft beer versus oh, say, Lake Erie perch and Pacific salmon.

I like Ninkasi, but couldn't the OR gov be pointed to something a little more premium? Boneyard anyone?

I think the idea that Ninkasi is from Eugene had something to do with it.

Also, Isn't sending alcohol technically against the law. Are they breaking the law by doing this?

I imagine they'll have a high ranking state employee carry it on a commercial airliner, first class ticket, paid for by the taxpayers.

If you can catch them with a yellow plastic worm its not a stretch of the imagination that they would go after a gummi worm.

I mean it makes more sense than being able to catch catfish with soap.

    From Ohio Beer blog......

    http://www.ohio.com/blogs/the-beer-...championship-1.556702?localLinksEnabled=false

The governors of Ohio and Oregon -- as you would expect -- have placed a friendly wager on Monday night's National Championship game between The Ohio State University and Oregon University.
And as you would expect from a craft beer hungry state like Oregon, beer is on the line. Ohio Gov. John Kasich has offered up a six-pack of Columbus IPA, while Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber offered Ninkasi Total Domination IPA. There are other items in the bet, too, like cheese, chocolates and lasagna.

    GO BUCKS, BEAT THOSE DUCKS!!
Columbus Brewing IPA - rated a "94" / outstanding here on BA

Ninkasi Total Domination IPA - rated a "83" / good - here on BA

    Better beer = Better football.....right??

I would have bet Bodhi or something else. Regular Columbus IPA is a good beer, but kind of a lame bet.

Your governor is likely afraid to ship a growler:grinning:

Well Kasich is from Columbus, not NEOH so that might explain the choice. Great Lakes is the most important to Ohio's beer identity though, I think.

Likely the two governors are choosing well known beers from the capitols of their respective states - and they are not really craft beer guys....that would be my guess.....

GO BUCKS, WHOOP SOME DUCK ASS!
