I'll be at the Calico/Carolus release for sure and I will not be using up my entire allotment. We can maybe work something out.

I may swing by the brewery that afternoon, since I'll be "sort of" in that area, if they have any bottles remaining, which I am not counting on.

Really hoping Olde Hickory follows Wicked Weed and decides to use Brown Paper Tickets.

Brown Paper Tickets made Mexican cake very easy. There are occasionally issues, but for the most part it has work fairly well. Just hit refresh a lot.

If the limits are as big as 6 and 12 respectively like they've said so far, I'm not sure pre-sale tickets are really necessary. But I guess if it makes it easier for people then why not.

This is only OHB's second brewery release and even WW wasn't even remotely on BPT by their second. OP wasn't actually a limited release considering the brewery didn't sell out until months later (and its still on shelves in town). Something as limited as Calico Jack sounds like it might be may push them to change things up if the release doesn't go smoothly. But if the release doesn't sell out on Day 1 there's absolutely no reason to go with the added expense of BPT.

But then I can't enjoy popping bottles (of sparkling water of course) at 5AM and watching the sun come up :slight_frown: I vote for normal release. OP went really smooth, and I trust this one will too. Looking forward to seeing the bottle count numbers.

Hey I remember the king henry / OP barley-off! OP by a good bit, as KH is a shell of its former self at this point.

The primary share will be the night before 6-9(or whenever we decide to get some sleep). For OP there was a share Saturday morning too. I'm sure this event won't be much different.

...and it was quite an epic share at that. @Mantooth and JdoubleA welcomed the Huggy Bear into their circle and even traded a few nice local beers with me.

@Mantooth - Sadly, I doubt I can make the bottle share on Friday night. I have to work until 4pm so the earliest I can make Hickory would be around 10 that night. A bit late to bust up into a bottle share. I am bringing a few bottles with me and may try to make a few quick trades on Saturday after the sale. I don't have anything in particular that I'm looking for, but I expect to roll up with a few crowlers of Answer Brewpubs IPAs, Alewerks Imp Pumpkin and some Lickinghole Creek stouts.

Of course, if Hardywood announces a bottle limit for Trickery that's worth waiting several hours for I may end up going there instead of making the trip down to Hickory. If that happens and you have an extra bottle or 2 to trade I may hit you up and see if we can work something out. Cheers.

Anyone have a recommendation for a decent hotel nearby? I heard that the release was cash only, is that right? Looking forward to this.

It's pobably going to be cash only, as they just set up a table with a cash box in the brewery. As for hotels, most are around 40 and 79. The Quality Suites is pretty nice and pretty easy on the wallet.

Can anyone speak to how quickly the line moved for the Omega Pointe release. Unfortunately I can't stick around long as I need to get back home (3 hour drive) for other stuff I have going on that day. As a result, I'm trying to figure out how early I'd need to get in line to insure I'd be able to get my bottles within 30 minutes or so of the opening.
