I once had a doppelbock that I received in a beer of the month club sit in my fridge for almost 1 year. When I drank it, it was just as bad as I anticipated.

Currently, its a Sam Adams Harvest Saison, which I actually like quite a bit, I just received a haul for my Bday then Christmas/winter ale season hit, and its been neglected for a couple months now. Poor guy, I'll get to it soon.

As I put this year's SA Chocolate Bock to the back corner of the fridg, I found one from last year. Can't even give them away.

I found a bottle of Founder's Bolt Cutter that I forgot I had. Think I am going to try to drink it while I am off from the Holidays.

After I first saw this thread, I began digging into the fridge to see what I had but was not intentionally aging.

Turns out I was sitting on 3 different 3-4 year olds; Hopslam (covered in another thread - doing side by side this spring wit a freshy), Nogne O Imperial Stout (had it - lovely) and Peche Mortel (nearly perfection this one!). The Hopslam is dated, so no ambiguity there. Both the Nogne O and the Peche Mortel I vaguely remember purchasing soon after I was wowed by Old Rasputin and became obsessed with stouts, but that faded to a Barley Wine obsession soon after. This period in my renewal to craft took place shortly after I joined BA, but can't put a firm date on it, so let's say at least 3 years old, possibly nearly 4.

Still have an Orkney Brewing Dragonshead in there that I haven't a clue when I purchased......Probably need to drink it soon.

Bass Ale. At least 4 years old. Most likely it tastes the same as it did when it was bottled.

I have an 18 month old Heady in my fridge for the last year. My son "lost" one in his fridge for 6 months. I told him instead of drinking a crappy heady I would use it to culture the yeast. He brought it down last Christmas and it never made it into my brew schedule. I am not sure if I could even revive the yeast at this point. It sits in that purgatory of not wanting to throw it out, but am scared to waste wort to revive the yeast. I sure wish we had just drank it last year. How bad could it have been?

There usually is a selection in a variety pack that you save for cooking because you really don't wnat to drink it. I have a Saranac GPA that sadly I am not even sure that I want to use for cooking......

    Lol, good thread idea.

I have a bottle of FFF Black Sun Stout that I am pretty sure has been in the fridge for at least three years. It's an irish dry stout too so I'm sure theres no aging going on here.

I have a Garrison Imperial IPA in my fridge that's been there since around July. Its still there not because its a bad beer (it's one of the greatest IPA's i've had), it's there because it's so god damn hoppy and winter isn't one of those times when I crave a hop bomb (rather a hot summer day).

None. I don't usually buy anything I don't like [but are sometimes given some things I'm not exactly crazy about] and I keep a running inventory and know when something is getting on in age and needs to be liberated. I know, get a life. But at least I don't have any old beer in the fridge.

Definitely some old home brew. Probably from 6+ months ago, and likely not very tasty anymore. I think it's a pale ale, so it's probably not worth drinking. I just haven't gotten around to opening it to find out.

Homebrew from a former co-worker that has no label. At least 7 months old. I did just pull 2 bottles up from the cellar. 2012 Founders Imperial Stout and Curmudgeon. The FIS was meh, but the Curmudgeon was beautiful. It had the same sediment that I found in Better Half. I would have put money on the opposite results.

Are you kidding? I wish I could get a whole case of just the Chocolate Bock.

I'd drive to Indiana to pick them up but I don't think it would be cost effective.

Stone Punishment, thats been sitting for the past year and a half.

I actually am looking forward to tasting it for the first time, but I really want to use it for a chili recipe in the slow cooker. I just keep forgetting for some reason.
