I am thinking about joining some friends for a music and camping weekend this summer at Ommegang.

I don't remember hearing about music there. Have they always had had these musical events?

What's the scene usually like (describe or rate it any way you'd like)

Is there bottle sharing in the camping area after the music?

    Any recommendations?

I think they have done concerts there before, but I can't remember anything to the quality they are putting on stage this year. Death Cab and especially Wilco are two that I really want to go to, if I can find people to go with.

This may be the first year they're doing music only events. BCTC had that big stage last year but it wasn't a music only thing. I plan on going to Hootie, er... Darius Rucker, in Sept.

Wilco is playing July 28th with Lee Ranaldo Band (guitarist for Sonic Youth) and it pains me greatly that I can not make it up there.

They've been doing music-only events for a while . . . almost went to the Avett Brothers last September, but it didn't work out. Also, I guess it poured—but barring weather and other uncontrollable factors, I'd imagine it's pretty gnarly. And they're cool there, I don't imagine* they'd have issues with bottle sharing, stuff like that.

    *can't speak from experience, unfortunately

Sounds like uncharted territory here, but seems like the idea of bringing a whole lotta really fine beer for the campground enjoyment after the show might be a great idea.

So, other than the few in the thread so far, who is planning on going to see any of these shows?

call the brewery, they are pretty chill and will give you the official answer or point you in the right direction. BCTC has always been a free for all
