By the way, I don't give easy hints. I hope my target is good at land navigation and using a map. Also, good qualities to have as my target would be a strength in math and good with solving word puzzles. Standby for more ridiculous hints.

 

Hint #2: My target has a want list full of mostly whale-ish or non-distributed beer but I hope to get two of his wants on a trip out of state soon

 

So after an early look at my target's wants and what I have stashed away plus what I can get my hands on its looking like I have about 10 wants and 194oz of beer picked out for my target. Boxes are always in flux so a few things may be swapped around, but it seems like an eclectic collection is going to be the way to go.

My target lives in the same timezone as me and assuming his wants are up to date should be able to hit one or two of them along with awesome brews that aren't distributed in his area.

 

By my count, 4 or 5 people in this BIF haven't checked in yet??

I'm going "shopping" this weekend. There is a great bottle shop right next to where we are going to be for a niece's birthday party, and a highly regarded small brewery about 10 minutes from there. Sunday will be a couple of other local breweries for some swag and a couple of bottles (plus some samples for me). If all goes well, maybe shipping next week?

It doesn't look like my target will be getting a t-shirt, as a size wasn't provided.

 

I don't think Zeke has me targeted, but my size is "Large"...

 

My targets box will go out this weekend to somwhere south of the Mason Dixon Line, I didnt get a shirt size with target info either.

Question:Is it the customary to send your target a Tracking # when box is shipped? I would think so since we dont want beer freezing on a doorstep or being jacked by a passerby.

 

Hint #2: My target will likely be seeing some snowfall either today or tomorrow. Sorry warm climate folks!

I'm also curious about Ravenacht's question above. For example, it's pretty dang cold here today & depending on the day I could be at class until late at night. Another question: what is the best way to package glassware? I don't think my target would get much use out of a shattered tulip

 

Along with the above questions, any advantage UPS vs FedEx?

 

My target has to update his wants and lives SW of me. I should be able to get him some great brews from breweries that don't distribute there! No shirt size either.

My size is M, but I also love glassware (not so much pints). And all my wants/styles that I like are in my profile!

 

Shipping East and it looks like my target updated their WANTS and they are in luck because I can defiantly hit a few of them.

 

FWIW I use shippers very frequently and in my experience FED EX has been far and above UPS for shipping fragile items. I always over protect shipped beers and swag as a habit.

 

Ok I know my wants are very hard to get, so anything local that I cannot get here in Chicago would be awesome.

I will be going shopping this weekend...looking to pick up a couple of bottles that my target will probably enjoy. Also taking a short ride out of state to a brewery in a couple of weeks. Hoping to pick up a want of his.

 

The short answer is no. Usually the hints will be more specific as you are closer to shipping, and it is always good to be mindful of the weather along a box's path. In my opinion its better to be a little late on a shipping deadline than getting beercicles. If anything I'd talk to Ohsaycanyoubeer about it instead of sending the shipping info to the target.

Glassware is tricky, in my experience bottle shippers are the way to go to get stemware, but YMMV. Other people may have better info but I've been fairly successful in stuffing them full of packing material in one slot of a shipper.

 

I'll be shipping east of the Mississippi. My target seems to like more hops than I do. A pliny search is underway.
