I have one afternoon/night in Indy tomorrow...planning on hitting Sun King, Flat 12 and Bier Brewing before they close. Then, dropping the car at the hotel and hitting some bars in search of local brews. Staying just east of downtown and planning on hitting Tomlinson Tap Room for sure...after that?

Is it worth a cab ride all the way up to Twenty Tap, which sounds like one of the consensus best spots in Indy, or are there a few other worthy places around Mass Ave? Definitely focusing on local/midwest beers....but a cool bar with a great atmosphere and just a few good selections is just as interesting to me as one with just an okay atmosphere and 30+ selections.

    Appreciate any suggestions.

Ask the gang at Flat12, they should know.

heard decent things about Ralstons Draft House on Mass Ave. might be worth checking out. i haven't been there yet so can't vouch for it. Macnivens has good stuff usually also. Twenty tap is definitely worth the trip and the Aristocrat just reopened 2 blocks south of twenty tap and they have 60 lines...about 55 of which are craft and when I was there I counted about 20 or so local beers on tap.....have fun!

Can't help on places but try Dragonfly IPA out of Bloomington. Fantastic on tap...not as good in bottle.

Mass Ave Pub is solid too. They put BCBS on a couple days ago...

If you're looking for food as well hit Ale Emporium. Absolutely awesome wings and really good pizza with a pretty good tap list.

I'm getting older and more surly I suppose. I spend the majority of my food and beer dollars on Mass Ave. Ball and biscuit, MacNivens, Old Point Tavern, Rathskeller, Ralstons is nice, Chatam Tap, and Black Market. I can't wait for the not yet named Brugge/Greg Hardesty brewpub to open on Mass.

I hardly go to broad ripple at night anymore. No parking and too much BS to put up with. Stay off my lawn while you are at it....humbug

Tl;dr have a good time here in Indy. I hope you enjoy our city.

Had a great time yesterday. Really liked Twenty Tap and MacNivens. Plenty of good beer at MacNivens, and they had holes drilled for 16 more tap lines coming next week bartender said. Was sad to have just missed out on the keg of BCS at Twenty Tap, but plenty of other stuff to keep me happy.
Also enjoyed checking out Sun King, Flat12 and Bier earlier in the day.
Indy seems to have a nice beer scene developing. Great to see and I'll look forward to returning!
