Hoplandia and Uptown Market

 

Deschutes is doing a beer for the Portland Trail Blazers. It may be gimmicky but the hops they are using sound tasty in a lighter lager and I'll have to buy it because Deschutes and Blazers.

Also, here's something you don't see for sale in the Portland area ever. I'm intrigued, but not at that price.

 

Jeebus. That beer is definitely not on the list of beers I'd pay 45 bucks for.

(To be fair, it's a really short list. Might even be an empty list. I'd have to think about it.)

 

Huna is a beer I would pay less for as it ages personally, especially not knowing their storage situation.

 

Damn we are a tough crowd here in the PNW..

 

We are also a practical crowd here in the PNW.

I could spend $45 on a single bottle of 2-year-old Huna.

OR

I could spend $45 on 3 4-packs of WanderJack.

Or 3 4-packs of Heater Allen/Wayfinder Rauchbier Hell.

Or a full damn CASE of Bodhizafa.

Hunahpu is delicious. Don't get me wrong.

I'm just not sure it's more delicious than any of the beers I just mentioned. Or at least not so delicious as to make the uneven quantities worthwhile.

In the PNW, I don't have to choose between favoring my wallet or my palate.
