Tried this at a bar and it seemed too sweet for me. I would try again though, seems like a lot of people like it

Had another coconut beer listed in this thread and did not dig.

Coworker was going on about this beer and then we were dealt a few 4 packs at work.
I was a little concerned at the 'Irish Porter' labeling but this was a Mounds bar in a glass (In a very good way).
I was greatly pained at having to tell said co-worker he was right about something.

    Oh.
    Hell.
    Yes.

I wouldn't want more than one, personally. I'm having one right now. It's a good beer to have occasionally imo.

Great beer, love the coconut flavor and the light body to this. Mounds bar in a glass is a great description

I found this on Wikipedia explaining the difference between English and Irish porters: "After the invention of malted barley roasted until black to impart a darker colour and distinct burnt taste to the beer in 1817, Irish brewers dropped the use of brown malt, using patent malt and pale malt only, while English brewers continued using some brown malt, giving a difference in style between English and Irish porters."

I'm the same. Almost. I've bought 4 4-packs so far. I figure this will last me up until Thanksgiving and then I'll drink Xoco to end out the year.

Local six pack shop wanted $5.75 for a single since he bases his prices on hype and one offs. Had to pass

Really enjoy the coconut aroma and flavor. It's no Last Snow, but it sure is tasty and only $11.99 a 4pk!

Anyone ever tried mixing with Ten Fidy? I have a full growler of 2012 Ten Fidy and was going to put it side by side with some 2014 and 15 I had. I figured with a whole growler of the 2012 I could allocate some to mix with DBC. Thoughts?

If you're near Philly you might want to check out Hawthornes. A four-pack came to about $13 after the to-go discount.

I had one of the hotbox cans a few weeks back and while I thought it was good it seemed like the coconut had fallen off a bit (or there wasn't enough to begin with). Bought a 4 pack yesterday and was pleasantly surprised - had much more coconut flavor. This is like an "everyday" version of Last Snow - not quite as decadent or heavy on adjuncts, but well rounded, dry, and drinkable.

To anyone in Montgomery or Chester Counties, PA. I found it at Whole Foods in Wayne, PA for $12.99. There was about a case and a half left from what I could see @3:30pm.

Unpriced 12oz.fourpacks in New Hampshire today but it rang up at $16 so I passed. Another lesson on wasting time and money (if you don't pay attention) on unpriced new brews.

Oskar Blues doesn't bottle anything. All cans. But I'm with you, I do prefer my beer in dark glass bottles.

I asked one of the staff at a local bottle shop had it come in. She laughed and I asked why. Apparently she is deathly allergic to coconut.

Bruisin' Ales is a tourist bottle shop. That's why. They should change their name to Mark-Up Ales. Looks like another, bigger and better bottle shop near by is starting to do the same.

so has anyone made a beer float with this yet?
Some Byer's natural vanilla ice cream would go perfectly.
Drank my last one before I got a quart of it.
