What do you think the chances of Jai Alai being brewed at this location?

No clue. Outside of core brands, I haven't heard anything about what beers will be brewed in Austin.

I'm pretty certain OB will be open by then. But if they aren't, there are plenty of other great breweries to visit in Austin.

There are something like 50 breweries in the Austin area. Austin is more than just JK.

I highly recommend you do Austin Beerworks, Pinthouse Pizza, and Hops and Grain.

Thanks... it's a 3 1/2 day spread so hopefully I can knock out as many breweries as possible while also enjoying everything else Austin

I will second Pinthouse Pizza. Their IPAs might be the best in Austin if not Texas ... specifically Fully Adrift, which might still be on draft at the Burnett location.

If I were visiting Austin my brewery itinerary would include these breweries:

Jester King (with a stop at nearby Last Stand)
    Live Oak
    Hops & Grain
    Austin Beerworks
    Pinthouse on Burnet

If I had time, I would pop into Zilker. After that I would head to Draught House or Craft Pride.

As a non-Austinite, this is what I would do as well. Possibly subbing Blue Owl for Zilker since I haven't been there yet and like their beers that I have tried

I prefer Pinthouse on Lamar. It's not as crowded and loud as the Burnet location and is a bit more relaxed.

I agree with your thoughts on the Lamar location but I feel like the house beer at Burnet is consistently better than Lamar. Also, Man O'War >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Electric Jellyfish (for me anyway). Plus, Lamar location is not really by any other breweries or tap rooms of note.

Cigar City was recently sold to the same group that owns OB.

That is what is funny here. That is what was reported in the initial story, then Cigar City was quick to point out that they were purchased by Oskar Blues, not the Fireman Fund. Even though the Fireman Fund owns a majority stake in Oskars, these brewery purchases (along with Perrin) are being attributed to Oskar Blues vs the Fireman Fund

I think that they understand the sentiment of the craft community and realize their investment is worth much more if its seen as a craft acquisition and not a PE acquisition.
