The second batch of that was a big drop off too I thought.

The 3 Sons stout label was seen in the taproom and the 3 Chiefs/Horus collab label was posted recently so we’re all waiting patiently.

First off, who the fuck conditions a barleywine on walnuts? Now I cant try this beer for what inevitably will be a lack of flavor due to the masking by the actual barleywine. Barleywines are heavy in flavor and alcohol for a reason.

Also the non BA version of Gold Strap was undrinkable IMO. No thanks.

OH's first attempt at a barleywine is sure to be a great one!
I just hope they keep their sticky, gooey, adjunct covered hands off of my Belgian strong dark ales.

Didn’t get to try that version but the original bottle was undrinkable. To make matters worse, I went to the taproom on a crowded Saturday and dropped my bottle in the middle of the street and it shattered in front of 100 ppl with the windows open. So I went in and bought another bottle. Should have listened to the first bottle.

I've been thinking a lot lately about what to do with these ridiculously sweet beers. They have some nice qualities. Anyone else try mixing them into either a cuvee or cocktail? Like, the barleywine blended with a nice English mild would probably turn out nicely.

    a) I would never disrespect a mild like that!

    b) and more importantly do you know of good local milds I can seek out? The only one I was aware of was the one Suarez put out a couple months ago - was very solid. Though wish a cask had made it’s way here to NYC

talking of cuvee, back when the first batch of Imperial Sneakbox came out at Kane, one of the workers was like just let me pour you a beer I got this. I tried and was like this is amazing. Apparently it was half Imperial Sneakbox and half A Space to Fill which was a nice DIPA they had at the same time. Since then I've tried to recreate this madness and I have been unsuccessful. In there a scientist in the house?

Threes did a collab with Burial that's a dark mild, they should still have cans. Also while technically its not a mild, Grimm Second Runnings is kinda in that vein as a malty session beer.

Do what the old head brewer of OH would do: Make a BBQ sauce. We had a few different OH stout sauces.

All this talk about the varying awesomeness and not so awesome versions of Space Diamonds has me curious since I’ll be picking some up today. Can they kill it 2 batches in a row???

Also, anyone else feeling like the Citra-Triumph was a tad muted compared to some other dual hoppers? Maybe not as triumphant.

Haha yea I got to try the Cloudwater/Other Half collab which was really good, wish I could've brought back cans but I didn't want to pay the absurd £8 a can it was from their taproom in London.

@rozzom I was specifically thinking of the Burial collab Threes did as I had cans of that at home right now! I'm by no means an expert in English milds but I loved that beer and the ABV especially.

Chip Shop will typically have a non local mild on cask.
