These guys need to step up their staffing on Sunday's. I've been waiting in line for 30 minutes to get a growler fill and a tasting

It's a small space. I've waited that same amount of time at opening on a Wednesday. Things will get better when they expand next door.

Is there a standard recommendation for how long you can let a OH growler go before losing quality? I got a 64 OZ DDH Broccoli last Sunday (2/12), and had been planning on drinking it this coming Saturday at a birthday party. But I feel like that is pushing it. Better to pop it open tonight?

I drank a growler of DDH ACE 2 weeks after it was filled and it was fine.

Depends on the growler and if it's cracked or not. In really garbage growlers I let it sit a week at most, and you better drink it that night.

I bought a nice vacuum sealed one, and that will keep stuff good for a month in it uncracked. Once cracked, I still get good tasting beer for 2-3 nights if something comes up.

It will probably be fine, but not fool proof at that point!

I bought the growler on-site at OH, so not sure of the quality reputation for their growlers..

Ah. I have no personal experience with those but they look pretty decent. I've been given plastic bottles before that looked like empty freaking Sprite bottles lol. You should be fine just don't crack it!

Your growler should be fine on saturday as long as it hasn't been opened at all before then. the real determining factor is whether its counter pressured filled or whether they basically just pour it in there -- OH does the former so they generally last a while.

my local shop has the "sprite" plastic growlers, but with a counter pressure system so they last a while.

Update: Decided to open it because, well, why not? Man, this beer (DDH Broccoli) is something else. Of the say, 15 or so OH beers I've had, I think this takes the cake.

Losing the beer Lotto tonight....Just cracked my second oxidized Citra/Motueka. Maybe I'll just hit the Macallans

Did it taste oxidized? The beer itself is pretty dark looking (not your typical neon glowing OJ color) but damn is it juicy tasting.

Funny you should say that....the first one tasted ok. I drank most of it, but found the color very off putting. Def more a brown than orange. If I drank it from the can, might not have noticed.

Could be in my head, but the second one tastes a bit off....

I actually drainpoured my first can as I thought it was oxidized as well. I opened two more and realized that's just the color. Maybe it's in my head as well but, while it's not bad, I had higher hopes for that beer(Loved all the Motueka variants so far).

I just had Citra + Motueka on tap today from OH and felt it was clean, showcasing both hops beautifully. Better than NNN in my opinion and yes the color was much darker than NNN.

Missed out on cans over the weekend so can't speak for those
