I am of Indian origin, and "Gandhi" is one of my all-time favorite movies...but the only potential sensitivity I have to Gandhi-bot is that my stomach just can't handle DIPA/IIPA beers. Every time I've had more than one, I've thrown them up violently within a couple hours.

Granted, I've never tried Gandhi-bot, but based on Gandhi-ji's strong belief in ahimsa, maybe I'd only puke up this particular DIPA in a decidedly non-violet manner.

Seriously though, is it possible to be sensitive to extremely hoppy beers? It's a real bummer.

It amazes me that people have so much free time that they can look for things to be offended about. Get a damn job or something.

Fox News NY just ran the story on the nightly news. They say that a group of Indians are planning to sue NEBC over the offensive use of Gandhi. Any chance the Redskins might consider having Gandhi Bot as their house beer at the stadium? Anyone know Daniel Snyder?

My only thought is I never really got the name nor the artwork. The beer, however, is excellent.

Totally possible, raw hops can be poisonous, DIPA's give me migraines.

Had a story about this on channel 3 wfsb in connecticut. Some state representative from ct was talking about how appalled he was that a company would use this logo. I can't be live how ridiculous this is getting

I hate to say it... But I think this is going to get bad for NEBCO. It seems like more and more US news outlets are picking this up and adding their own spin to create outrage.

I mean I was kinda joking, this is a beer forum and all so I don't want to get into some political debate, but there are many reasons some might consider him to be an asshole. But that's just like my opinion man...

A quick google search will fill your computer screen with many negative facts and opinions on the guy. Here is one article from 2011-

Yeah, my boss received a few calls today for interviews. He did one with the Hartford Courant, but passed on one with an 1010 WINS out of NYC. He understands the status of the 'Bot, and saw how quickly it all got snatched up the last (and only time) we got a case, so that probably makes it a little easier to cast personal views aside.

Because of the scarcity of this beer, should have never become an issue. It's only available in CT (and maybe NY?), the only people who seek this beer out are BAs, and we buy it all from behind the counter in a matter of hours.

I hope they just didn't get a shipment of cans. Unfortunately, here's how it will play out- NEBCO doesn't have the resources to fight this one out if it keeps going. The easiest way to deal with it i sto change the name/label and move on. I hope I'm wrong.
