Pabst Blue Ribbon Tweets Then Deletes 'Eating Ass' Joke

Totally unprofessional by the folks at Pabst. One would think that their Twitter account was hacked by some hater. Instead, it seems as if they put some airhead in charge of the Twitter account.

 

Yes, but authorship of the tweet will look good on his resume when he looks for a job at a number of craft breweries with similar "humorous" brand names, labels and ad campaigns.

 

Saw this and thought it was fake. I work for a corporate company and before anything is ever published with their branding it has an approval process. Sounds like they need someone to approve posts as opposed to giving complete authority over to idiots.

on a side note while inappropriate it was funny.

I feel bad for servers who have customers observing Dry January and will inevitably be asked if they have any ass to eat from this.

Crude. The Christian Right always bemoaning the "coarsening " of society. I hate those guys but beginning to think they have a point. Dumbo stuff from PBR..I guess they think they know their audience.

 

I was laughing at this shit because I thought it was initially some photoshopped bullshit from Instagram beer meme pages I follow and come to find out it's actually real.

A coworker and I were theory-crafting whether this was an employee/intern that finally had enough or a really odd marketing campaign. The logic behind the latter was that the people who are fans of PBR likely wouldn't be offended by the tweet just by virtue of the kind of people who like PBR (thus, wouldn't be driven away from the brand) and anyone else might be interested/offended enough to see what's up and it would be in the collective beer unconscious (at least for a little while).

It was fun to talk about the kind of people who drink PBR, especially reminiscing about metal/punk shows and talking about how most would gravitate toward PBR because it was usually the cheapest thing at the venue. Some of the memes that sprung from this caused further laughter from myself and coworkers.

The social media person who crashed and burned from this is a hero in my book.

I don't know if I was ready to go that far but we got a good chuckle out of the discussion. We partake of shitty beer ourselves being avid beer drinkers so it was more of a discussion about who wouldn't be offended by this and who this might attract to PBR (in the absolute rarest of circumstances), and general reminiscing about our experiences with the beer.

 

This would have been a golden chance for Heineken to reply on social media!
