With distro kicked up, I wonder if the 10% and 19.5% will end up in 750's for limited release. I don't feel like we have enough limited releases to potentially stand in line for and witness muling, parking lot clothes changes and/or truck chasing escapades anyway, so why not another....

Not sure if anyone would stand in line for 10% or 19.5% variants.

    It's all over in NC.

I've seen it in independent bottle shops, Total Wine, and even in Walmart.

Was in Chicago 2 weeks ago, had the 10% on draft at The Public House. Crazy drinkable, this stuff could be very dangerous...

Seen and bought the 10% a couple of times and yes there were lines. I've never seen the 19.5% in bottles but I would assume some has hit bombers. I have had the pleasure of the 19.5 served in a snifter and you can certainly get in trouble with it. I prefer the 10% to drink and the bottled variant that we're all seeing makes a wonderful Root Beer Float or Black Cows as my parents called them

FYI, he does brew what I believe is called Grandmas Apple Pie and yes it's good

We finally started to get it in CT the past couple of weeks and every place around here has it sold out. The stuff is amazing and great to make some rootbeer floats with, the adult version.

I brought in 50 cases of the stuff a month ago and I already had to reorder. I talked to my rep about the bombers of the higher ABV ones and he said they will come to Minnesota in the future, but not yet.

Isn't it made by the same people that made Four-Loko?

Yeah, the owner of the brand (and the cynical dba of "Small Town Brewery") is listed on the TTB COLA as DRINK FOUR BREWING COMPANY, PHUSION PROJECTS, LLC, of Four Loko fame (infamy?)

The "beer" is contract-brewed at City's La Crosse, WI multimillion barrel capacity brewery (former Heileman flagship). Other NYFRB COLAs list all 3 City breweries (La Crosse, Memphis and Latrobe, PA).

Pabst apparently is merely acting as the national master distributor, via their own network of distributors.

I was wondering why "Small Town Brewery," which I had never heard of, had a "beer" that was all over the country. Saw it locally, in Charleston SC, and KY recently. Tried some and enjoyed it as I like root beer, but would not make a regular habit of drinking it.

Right, which makes me wonder again how the hell is this "beer" even allowed on this site! If this isn't a "malternative" then I don't know what is!

Released in bombers and draft. Draft is available far more often then the bombers. But seriously its terrible.

The divide this beer creates intrigues me. I liked it, but it just didn't seem like beer to me. I would be curious to learn about the brewing process

The bottle 5.9% is good but a touch sweet, the 10% draft is a awesome but really a once in awhile beer for me.

Yeah, NC's definitely getting solid distribution on this stuff.

Huge root beer fan, so I should like this, but I had the oddest response to the one that I tried: one sip would taste great, then the next sip would have a sickly off-flavor that I didn't like (and couldn't pinpoint), then the next sip tasted great, ad finitum. One of my housemates and his girlfriend had the same (independent) experience, and I think I saw someone on here say the same thing in another thread.

Just not for me, I guess.

And root beer! That was my takeaway on the stuff -- if I want tasty root beer, I'll just buy some locally brewed, non-alcoholic stuff. If I want good beer, I'll buy some good beer. If I want booze that tastes like root beer, I'm sure there's a shot of some sort to fill the gap. I was terribly unimpressed with NYFRB, but I also can totally see how it'd appeal to lots of folks.
