Nice! I'll have to keep an eye out for the bottles. So far I've only had their PB Cup Stout, Citra PA, and Pineapple IPA... all three were very impressive. I'd love to try more stuff from these guys.

most definetly! if ever in or near saginaw, i recommend the saginaw tap room, as funny as it sounds its located in a bowling alley, star dust lanes. the owners have a passion for craft beer and it started as a 8 tap bar now has 16 and looking to add more including a hand pump.

Origlio Distributing in philly is picking up and order of Spring House Brewing Co. Big Gruesome and Planet Bean Coffee Stout. Both beers in 22oz bottles and 1/2 kegs. Looking like pick up will take place next week. Origlio is a wholesale distributor and will be sending it out to various accounts around the philly area.

I definitely need to check out Odd Side Ales. Looking at their website, their taplist includes, among others...

    Chilli IPA
    Albino Stout
    Mushroom Stout?
    Macadamia Brown
The previously lauded Peanut Butter Cup Stout

...Yeah, I could spend a good minute investigating those brews.

I tried a sample of a local brewery's peanut butter one off beer last summer during a festival and asked the brewers how exactly did they get the peanut butter flavor in it? I had assumed it was some sort of specialty malts. Nope. They told me that they did just throw the peanut butter in the wort and skimmed the oil off while it boiled. It was a small batch from a small brewpub (so small that they only offered about 20 samples once every hour of the festival. I stood in line 3 times to get a shot at trying it.) I can't imagine how annoying that job would be.

Agree. A must try. I had it on cask at the International Beer Fest in Cleveland, and it was amazing! http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1154/45072

Uber Goober on tap is FANTASTIC! I've had it at EBF and at Sunset Grill & Tap in Boston. Sorry to hear about your bottle experience.

    Cheers

Terrapin Liquid Bliss is a Porter that is dry peanutted, and although don't know exactly what that means, it does add a nice peanut flavor to the beer. Would gladly buy another but couldn't find any when I went back to local store - this makes me think there is some good application for peanuts or peanut butter and beer.

We encountered some issues with bottling both the Uber Goober and PB&J. Many of them became infected and were unfortunately drain pours. This was when we first started bottling beers and chalk it up to growing pains. I apologize for any inconvenience. We have not bottled either in about 3 years, so if for any reason you see a bottle, please do not buy it and alert any store/person who has it that it is not going to taste well. We still do brew both at our pub (Uber and Soft Parade) and will blend them for a great tasting PB&J if you ask.

This. I haven't tried Snack Attack! yet but I sampled No Crusts at Funky Buddha and it was amazing. I am also anxiously awaiting the opening of the Funky Buddha Brewery in Oakland Park and hope they have these on tap.

I had the Liquid Bliss (I know it's technically not a PB&J beer) and wasn't a fan.. think it's a pretty terrible idea.

I did one earlier this year (peanut butter stout.) Primary as usual but I added a jar of dried peanut butter and some cocoa nibs to the secondary. It was pretty good - it didn't taste like a peanut butter cup, but was still a hit. Next time I'll probably add a little lactose to sweeten it up a bit to make the cocoa stand out a bit more.

Yep - that's a good one. It's very peanutty (almost like peanut oil instead of peanut butter) but I remember spending a lot on a bomber and really liking it.

Terrapin Liquid Bliss would be a great one to try, but it was a one time brew and impossible to find in bottles even in Athens. I've heard rumors that it was a pain to clean the brewing equipment after it was made, so it will not likely be produced again.

Agree this was delicious. Reno's in East Lansing currently has it and so does Sweetwater in Grand Blanc.

I got a growler of this about a month ago. Good beer, but frankly a coffee bomb. Peanut butter was not prominent, for me at least.

Hopefully someone from Oddside is reading Beer Advocate and hearing all of this praise. Their website says they will start bottling this spring. We might just see bottles of Peanut Butter Cup Stout on our shelves in the near future.

Speak of the devil, I actually went to Ashley's in Westland this past weekend and they had it on tap. It had been nearly a year since I last had it, so I decided to try it again. Just as delicious, if not better, than I remembered it!

Sweet baby Jesus for the win! You have to let it warm a bit though to get the full effect of the peanut butter otherwise it's mostly chocolate malt.

OK, I know you're in Pennsylvania, but Spiteful, a small and awesome brewery in Chicago, does a great version with their Goddamn Pigeon Peanut Butter Porter. They also recently did a version aged in rye whiskey barrels. I have a bottle of the barrel-aged version, but I'm saving it for next month, so I don't know how it is yet. I'd guess a lot of Chicago-area BAs probably have it for trade if you're really interested in checking it out.

Liquid bliss is actually going to be a year round release now. Sweet Baby Jesus kicks it's butt, however. Still , for me, Big Gruesome is the best one I've had. The style just works better with a stout, IMO.
