BA Dark Matter 2020 for President
Sump for 2017 too...
Logboat already did BA Dark Matter. It was good if you like heavy barrel/bourbon. A 7% Porter probably isn’t the best match for 2+ years in barrels.
"Finally, unlike last year, there will be no variant bottles released at the brewery, but Perennial is allowing proxies to pick up the beers."
Checked the site this afternoon- PLENTY of packages (want 4 packages? Sure, have at it) available.
Assuming all the leftover Coconut bottles will be on-site for a while after this release is over.
Does anyone have any word on when the maman release is expected?
No one has any idea when it will be released and those that do within the brewery stay mum on it as hiccups/delays can always happen. The brewery always states it releases beers when they are ready.
Bottle #4 for Societe has been announced: Funky Wit Apricot. We are 4-4 on sours for the membership so far. Was thinking they said the next bottle was going to be Anniversary with the last Societe communication. Wonder what happened there?
Literally states in the society email that their label Manufacturer is having technical issues. And that the anniversary blend will be released at a later date. Smh
Bring back Fruits of Labor
just had my last black currant & boysenberry bottle last week. so good.
Youre right. My bad.
Never been to an anniversary party. Any idea what to expect? I’m guessing anniversary blend on draft, but do other favorites make it out (maman, baa, etc)? Like older vintages?
I’m pretty confused about their talk of an anniversary party coming up. I’m fairly certain I was just at an anniversary party 4 months ago.
Edit: I do drink fairly regularly so could be mistaken
Anniversary party =/= member party
Anniversary party last year was the only appearance of BA Brimley, which I was sure was going to make it to bottles at some point.
I have been to both of the last 2 anniversary parties but missed BA Brimley somehow it appears.
Still seems weird to call if an anniversary party and not do it around the same time every year. Not complaining though. Would love a party quarterly
Nevermind. It appears I’ve been to the last 2 member parties.
What generally happens at the anniversary parties?
shotgunning busch lights
probably some stouts.
Anyone have a list of what's been released so far. Tried searching through old emails but got lazy. Thanks
Carondelet Wilderness Refuge
Giants Steps b2
Funky Wit Cherry
Funky Wit Apricot
Anniversary Blend 2019
*this was optional / had to pay for it
Thank you sir!
no problem. those aren’t in the right order but pretty sure that’s the list thus far.
Getting that 2019 release in just under the wire.
Yeah, just a 1-hour notice!!!
Merry Christmas to the locals. everyone else, go f*ck yourself.
Not sure if this is official yet, but here is the description from Untappd:
"Maman 2019 is comprised of 3 vintages of spirit barrel aged stout ranging in age from 20-30 months. Layered with notes of bakers chocolate and bourbon soaked brownies, and clocking in at 15%. Drinking this beer reminds us of listening to Never Too Much by Luther Vandross and heavy bass lines from heady Coltrane tracks."
Which I think isn’t spurning out of town members - you (we) still get a bottle and most of their biz would be local, to be fair. I hope.
WHAT ABOUT THE PEOPLE THAT ALREADY LEFT TOWN FOR CHRISTMAS
yeah, i was only kidding (or was i?). i was 90% sure from their tweet the other day that it was going down today but can’t make the trip on a hunch.
keep the change ya filthy animal
I mean, is it really that bad to have a release that for once rewards people for responding quickly rather than having to get there 2 days ahead of time?
I want another, too, if for no other reason than to hook up a long-time trading partner. It hurts - my FOMO is flaring up
no, you gotta take care of your locals who are there every week.
Yeah, by holding an intervention and sending them to AA!
Good on Perennial. I understand the bummer for the out of town folks as well as the pluses/minuses of only "rewarding locals" with big bottles, but I miss the days way back when of silent releases up at places like Three Floyds where you just show up, no line, and if there is something there, cool, if not, you can still grab a nice meal with great beer.
All for either more on-site only or silent releases on weekends when people may be around and in town anyways to negate the having to line up at <insert early time here> in <insert potentially bad weather/temperatures here> conditions. If there is fear of losing the communal element of the whole line up process (which is most assuredly a thing for sure), let people share beer like SP does on special occasions to bring the community back together.
Bravo Perennial. Nicely done.
I can assure you that that's official. They sent me the description yesterday and I built it myself.
Thanks for the confirmation! Any word on whether SdC members will get an opportunity to purchase a second bottle this year, outside of today’s public release?
Perennial answered that question on Twitter, and the answer is no unfortunately.
