Thanks guys! I have the 2013.
I got halfway thru my case of Peruvian Morning before I got a bad one.
Now I'm afraid to drink the rest.......anybody want to trade?
Since we're at the top of a new page, I'll just remind everyone that this thread is about 2012 Peruvian Morning (last year's) not the new 2013 stuff that has been out for weeks and has no issues.
Good Peruvian Morning (2013):
Potentially bad (i.e. sour) Peruvian Morning (2012):
Just popped a 2013 from Binny's in Blommington/Normal IL tonight. I've never had a beer that I've stood back and said "Hey! This beer is infected!" That being said this was a tart SOB. Having never had it before my first thought was maybe it was some bad lactose. IDK..
keep in mind: both this year's and last year's peruvian morning are infected. not every bottle was infected, but enough of them are drain pour level infected that you probably shouldn't chance it.
The 5 bad bottles I had were 2013's...
Just to add to the discussion, I've got a Peruvian Morning on tap, it was amazing. Went after a 4-pack the following week, and they were all sour. All of them. Drain poured.
I had this from a bottle - worst beer I have ever had.
Had a couple a month ago and sourness was creeping in. I did have an awesome bottle when it first hit the shelves however. Last year, every bottle I tried was tainted! Sketchy brew for sure.
I thought 2013 Peruvian Morning was amazing.
This is still going on? I thought central waters recalled what was sitting on shelves. Either way they are reimbursing people again.
Opened my last bottle from 2013 tonight...very sour..drain poured it. The other three bottles in the four pack were good though.
I had some on draft last week and it was still fine. Wonder if its only bottles. Any have some sour draft PM?
CW BBBW & Imperial Stout >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> non-infected Peruvian Morning.
I've had 3 out of the 4 bottles that I got in a trade and all have been exceptional. My favorite beer of 2013 so far.
Drain pour on my only bottle.
I have had 2. One in line with other BAs at the BA Roosevelt release. Both taste like crap. Both of them definitely had infection issues or some thing wrong. In line we passed it to about 6 other people and everyone agreed.
Had one a month ago... Very sour And definitely infected. Almost positive it was a 2012 batch.
2013 is infected.
i have 2 four packs of 2013, super excited! had a bottle the night I bought it, it was very sour, I like sour beers but this is not supposed to be sour.... I thought maybe it needs to tame and age a little but now after I read these post im wondering if my other 7 bottles are "infected" too.... that sucks if this is the case. need bourbon stout...need coffee stout... NEED COFFEE BOURBON stout!
They changed the label from 2012 to 2013....that might be the first hint on it being a '12 or '13.
Both years have issues. 2012 & 2013
I've opened 5 bottles of of 2013 and 3 were infected. I ended up saving the infected beer in a jar and used it to braise some beef short ribs, which came out great. Don't waste your infected bottles--use them in cooking!
