Any decent craft beer options in the airport (PHX)? I have a two hour layover when I travel next week and I wanted to pop a few while I'm waiting for my flight.

Not much in my experience, though I am always in the USAir terminal. I had a Black Butte Porter in a plastic cup at La Madeleine once. Usually I am on the other side by Roadhouse 66. I think Fat Tire is the best choice there. Good luck!

Black Butte is the best you will find at the airport. Two hrs isnt enough time to leave to the very nearby beers bars in Tempe.

I hear there will be a Four Peaks in one of the terminals soon - but for now the airport pretty much sucks

Terminal four is starting to get better places that's where Four Peaks is going to be.

I haven't been on the north side of terminal 4 in awhile but there used to be a place with Gordon Biersch taps and a couple other crafts. Beyond that you're likely to just find Deschutes or Fat Tire, Sierra Nevada or Sam Adams offerings - plus some common imports like Guinness or Dos XX.

PHX is not good for beer. On Sunday the best I could find was a bottle of Four Peaks Kilt Lifter at la Madeleine by Gate B19 (I believe). Can't take it away, though, and there aren't a lot of tables.

Tacos and Tequila near the A gates has Four Peaks Kiltlifter and SanTan Epicenter on tap. Sierra Nevada Pale as well.

    LOL this thread is amusing.

Airport wise, I'd rather be in Salt Lake City. Yeah, it's that bad here.

Yeah, looking forward to Four Peaks opening...

I ate at Blanco (Mexican) in Terminal 4 a few months ago and they had some Four Peaks and SanTan on tap.

A Mirror Pond or Red Chair (if in season) at an airport sounds like a pretty darn good option to me!

Not yet. I flew in Monday p.m., hoping it would be open. The website says it will open in the fall.

Four Peaks is now open at the airport.
I'm told there both draft and cans/bottles to go.
Good for them. And for PHX which is such a lame airport. It feels a little cooler now that the big local brewery has a face there.

Bumping over a year and a half later... I'll have a three hour stop at PHX next week. Seems like Four Peaks is there now, so we'll look that up. Anything else to check out?

For next time you are there: I had the opportunity to spend 10 hours in PHX because of flight delays a couple weeks ago, and spent 90% of my time at a place called Matt's Big Breakfast. They had some good tap options, and they also have a legit bartender. Not to mention the food is awesome. I had three meals there. See if Jessica is working - she is an incredible photographer and has lots of stories from living abroad.

If you have a tighter connection and don't have time to walk to the A gates in T4, Humble Pie in the C gate area of Terminal 4 has Four Peaks Kilt Lifter on tap as of August 2015. There is also Goose Island IPA though not technically "craft". Enjoying as I type this.

So since this thread was initiated, the PHX airport has undergone a complete remodel with respect to retail options at least at the busiest terminal (Terminal 4). There are many, many new places to eat and drink. This includes quite a few local Arizona restaurants that got the option to open a satellite location at the airport.

    Yes Four Peaks is open
    and so is Cartel
with excellent coffee (and they also brew really solid craft beer).

Here's the map with the food/drink options for Terminal 4

    Places worth checking out include:

    Chelsea’s Kitchen
    Zinc Brasserie
    Matt's Big Breakfast
    Blanco Tacos
    Lo Lo Chicken and Waffles
    Sauce Pizza and Wine bar

Know it's been awhile, but I'm flying through Sky Harbor in a few weeks and I'm wondering if the Cartel coffee shop location in the airport has their beer on draft?

Any other bars worth mentioning that might have anything local on tap?

no cartel beer at the airport that I am aware of. Not many good beer options at the airport unless you want to drink Budweisers-Four Peaks brand beers, so really nothing local anymore.
