Too bad you're not allowed out of the house for long enough.

I had the hardest time finding bottled beer in Pittsburgh. Went to two grocery stores in shady side and they both said they don't sell alcohol.

Yep, a lot don't. The beer laws are beyond stupid here. Shadyside Giant Eagle was where you needed to go, though.

They weren't really helpful in terms of finding local stuff from Pittsburgh. I appreciate the help though.

I'm a big fan of everything i've had from them. Their Saison can be found in bottle shops all around CO fairly regularly from what i understand. Definitely worth grabbing as much as you can. The Cut was pretty good IMO.

If you had listened to us you'd have found lots of bottles at the Shadyside Giant Eagle.

Yeah, at least there you could have snagged some PA beer. Voodoo, Spring House, Weyerbacher, Yards and a few others.

I got to visit Casey earlier this summer. I thought oak theory was the best American take on a gueuze that I've had. Dry hop oak theory was good but very sour. Montmorency cut was tasty but probably not worth the $36 I paid for it. The saison was good but nothing too special. From what I hear, every batch of each beer can be very different so I'd like to try another saison. As far as the visit, Troy was extremely accommodating and nice and I wouldn't hesitate to give them my business again regardless of the cost of the beer.

I think he means South Side.

Thought so too, and I wasn't being snarky--figured it could go either way.

@Socalfan21 , if you're in South Side, you could try Carson Street Deli--they won't have much, but they should have some. Fatheads will have mostly their beers in their upstairs bottle shop. There is a Giant Eagle on 20th street and a GetGo on 27th, but I don't believe either of them offer beer (posting so that someone can correct me if this is wrong).

Black and Gold Beer Warehouse on 10th only sells cases, and they are modest in size, but they have good pricing. There is also Buddy's Brews on Carson, which will be more expensive but have a larger selection. Realize you are looking for bottles of local stuff, but, provided your time and location constraints, I didn't want to not present it as an option.

Fat Heads sells their own bottles. And Carson St. Deli has a decent (if overpriced) selection of local stuff. Other than that...really nowhere else that I can think of unless you want an entire case of something...

EDIT: dammit the bastard beat me to it above, although my version was much more concise. :stuck_out_tongue:

Correct...no booze at either of these locations.
