I have yet another rookie question. I'm newer to craft beer but I think I have some decent stuff in my small "cellar" (2 mini fridges). Are there any regular local shares? Not sure if I would be able to attend or would even be welcome but I figured I'd ask.

Thanks for the welcome guys. The beer scene is definitely different from where I came from but I've found plenty to keep it interesting. I live in the southside works area so I tend to stick to GE Shadyside, Fat Heads, Voodoo Homestead, and BG on occasion.

I'd be down for a share sometime too. Still have access to NC stuff if anyone's interested.

Had it last night...it was good...hid the booze extremely well...but I honestly liked MOMO better.

100% agree. This batch of MOMO is phenomenal. I enjoyed the Triple IPA, but I also thought it was kind of boozy.

Wow, really? I didn't get any booze at all. My wife thought it was the best beer of the bunch we tried and she hates anything above like 6%...she's super sensitive to booziness.

What is funny is the guy I was talking to commented to me about it being boozy before I ever tasted it, so he blame him (a lurker on this thread) for seeding that idea in my head lol.

long story short, I tend to not go "out" and drink, as most places that are worthwhile are very long drives home, and I just don't even do the "buzzed" driving.

I work on the North Side, is there any good spots close, or North (McKnightmare road, / 279 - 79 / 65) that have a good tap list, that will fill 1/2 size or full size growlers? I see you guys talking about a lot of beer, but a good portion of it isn't bottled (or not available), and I would like to try some of it.

As an aside, I see Rivertown has a real nice growler (insulated), any recommendation for a 1/2 size?

McKnight Road is pretty terrible for beer. You'd have to go all the way up to Wexford Whole Foods going in that direction.

Yep...and even further north, there's Pig Iron in Cranberry, which tends to focus on local stuff: http://www.pigironpub.com/

And the Cranberry GE occasionally has fun stuff on tap (Project PAM not too long ago...might actually still be on for all I know): https://twitter.com/cranberrygebeer
