did you get to see it, or was that their excuse? dented, ripped, all sorts of things, but total destruction, that's impressive (unless someone wanted some free beer)

The rep said verbatim "This package was totally destroyed".

You are right. There's a chance.. They knew it was on the truck arriving to Pittsburgh, but after that it went cold.

I agree. I like to drink. I can't ever see myself buying something just because it might trade well.. if its that good, hell, I want to taste it. If I know I won't like it, there's plenty of others that I can spend money on

I can't endorse FedEx at all. To many bad experiences. I will continue to use UPS for all my shipping needs

I would say, actually, that until they commit to "not actually lost...damaged....yeah...damaged" then there is hope.

I can't endorse any of them. They all suck. Shipping is risky business.

The Independent Brewing Company was a conglomerate of breweries under one ownership in SWPA about a century ago. The owners of the bar in Squirrel Hill acquired the rights to the name & logo prior to opening, & have used both in their branding. I agree that it's misleading & used to complain about it publicly, but it doesn't really bug me that much any more. The place is most frequently referred to as The Independent, & I think they realize what an albatross the name Independent Brewing Co. is. It's a cool place, too - got a date there soon with a certain @dtx00.

remember...just because he buys you drinks, doesn't mean you "owe" him anything :stuck_out_tongue:

I haven't used UPS for shipping but I thought the consensus was that FedEx was the safest way to ship but maybe a little more expensive. I've only had issues that were my fault for poor packaging but package was always returned. In one trade the package I shipped made it to about 1 mile from the destination in CA only to have a Westbrook Gose burst. They had it ready to ship back to PA but I called them and said that it was okay and to continue on, which they did and it all worked out.

It's been my experience that FedEx is almost always a day faster. I ship to a buddy in New Jersey and the package routinely gets there next day, even when I just do ground. He does the same with UPS and it always takes two, sometimes three days.

That's just one specific location, but I've found it to be true pretty much regardless. When I ship to a buddy in Los Angeles he almost always gets it in four business days where UPS always takes five.

Thanks for the information. That makes some sense, but it's a little misleading for sure.

My wife got to meet @kbuzz last weekend so I can at least attest to the fact that one of you is in fact a real live human being.

It does eventually get less weird, believe it or not...

Although it tends to then escalate to other levels of weirdness...

EX: "Hey babe...while we're on this trip 400 miles away from home, I have to go to a target parking lot to meet a dude I met online and exchange alcohol."

@kbuzz was one of those I've met as well. So, consider this second source he's real (and not a scumbag).
