I tried to search but couldn't find any details.

Going to San Francisco this coming week, going to go to RR on Sunday.

Can anyone recommend any restaurants around RR. Will have a rental car. Open to all cuisines.

    Thanks in advance.

Going to spend the whole afternoon there and eating dinner, wanting to eat lunch somewhere else or vice versa.

Drive to Lagunitas and eat there perhaps? It isn't that far away.

Haha last trip my girlfirend and I showed up at opening, drank the sampler and split a small lunch pizza. We then continued to drink for another 4+ hours and got a dinner pizza. This method is totally acceptable in my book

RR's food is better than average. I'd just eat there.

Also order wings right when you get there. They take about 30 to 45 minutes and are baked in the pizza oven

Third street ale works is just around the corner from RR. You don't have to drive plus they have some good beer, After head to Lagunitas.

Not next door to Russian River, but I like Sol Food (Puerto Rican) in San Rafael a lot.

Russian River's food might be better than average, but still there's much better food to be had.

All the food joints around RR that I've tried were no better than RR. Like @Buck86 said, just order something different for dinner. Or go to Bear Republic which is great.
If you still think we're all crazy look up some places on Yelp.

I'll go +1 for the Parkside Cafe. My wife and I go to RR all the time and always, always do breakfast at dierk's in the am.

Can go down to Third Street Aleworks and eat there too.

The Chinese restaurant next to RR is supposedly good so I hear.

If you head to Lagunitas hit Lombardis BBQ in the area.

If you like Sol Food you should really check out El Coqui which is a block away from Russian River. Just as good as Sol Food, maybe a bit better based on the last two times I was at Sol Food (but maybe it was an off night).

@dson08: If you are doing Russian River and Lagunitas you really should drop by BeerCraft in Rohnert Park. You are going to drive right past it anyway (can see it from 101) and they have a really nice bottle selection and a dozen interesting taps. Great folks, great place!

*(edit: But get at least one meal at RR, as people have mentioned its above average)

Good suggestion, thanks. Actually it looks like I noted El Coqui once upon a time but never dropped in for various reasons. Definitely happening next time I'm up there.

+1 to this. Food is very good, and they have a decent wine list as well, should you be "beered out."

I've eaten at RR a number of times and I think the food there is fine. However, RR is not what I consider a food destination (and there are plenty such places in the wine country), and given that increasingly you have to wait a considerable amount of time to get a table, I don't think the cuisine merits the trouble it takes to eat there.

Just speaking for myself... if I'm there anyway to enjoy a few beers, then the food is more than good enough to order while enjoying a couple glasses of elder or row/hill. Otherwise, I generally eat someplace else and then head over for a glass or two of RR stuff.
