Pliny 03.08 batch

I agree 100%. I drank one Friday bottled 3.08 and it seemed like it was missing several notes. It was piney and bitter and didnt have any of the citrus goodness that it normally does. It tasted very ordinary. I drink it often and this was not the same.

 

Me thinks you have had it too often. Please send to me and take a break from it.

 

Hey, even the Mona Lisa's falling apart.

 

Had it on tap yesterday in Denver. Have no clue what batch it was, but it was definitely not as great as I've had recently in bottles. Maybe they needed to clean their taps or something. Would rather have a fresh Sucks.

 

But what about beer?

 

I havent had it yet, but i'm breaking from my Barleywine/Imperial stout phase and planned on getting some this weekend...I'm actually interested to have it again hearing this....Does this mean we less appreciate our own locals, that I lost excitement for a pliny?

 

Obviously it's infected. Spread the word. PM me if you have any and I will tell you an address to send it to where it can be safely and properly disposed of.

 

I would be glad to sample some. Please BM me (not that type of BM, just a message thanks) and I'll give you my address so I can try some.

On a serious note, is it possible that so many people will start looking for that "next best thing" or get so wrapped up in hype around other beers that they'll maybe start looking for critiques in what are normally great beers?

well the obvious reason is because its over 10 days old now. that shit fell off forever ago.

 

maybe you drank it too cold. maybe you have a cold.

 

The current batch is always worse than the previous batches.

 

...........dumb.......you have to go to RR and have them BLAST it in to your mouth from the tank! or it's bad

Did you say 03.08? Thats your problem right there, its 10 days old the hops have obviously faded.

In all seriousness I have had slightly "off" batches of Pliny. They are always good, your always going to have some differences form batch to batch.

 

Call the beer police this is a beer felony

 

Same old jokes always in these type of threads:
" Ten days is way too old please send them to me so I can properly dispose of them"

For the OP: You might have better luck posting this in a local forum to get people who have actually tried it rather than the same old jokes. It also seems that over time it has sort of become blasphemy on BA to suggest that a particular batch or vintage tastes different. People no longer want to admit that its possible for these things to happen from time to time.
