and taking the train to Flavortown
Yeah, but by then hops have totally faded. Nothing worse than stale Younger.
It's nice to see that MacNCheese has finally made a friend
First keg of Younger kicked at The Bistro in 74 min. Second keg kicked in 105 min.
Yes, somebody is actually timing it.
No, it's not me.
I have lots of internet friends.
Enjoying it as I type this at the Lafayette Parc hotel. It's a bit of a shot show, but a very older mellow crowd. Cheers.
This has been my spot for a few years now. Always a smaller crowd, no rowdiness, and very enjoyable atmosphere.
I did not time, but it seems like keg at ben and nicks kicked in 75
Despite 2 pour limit
Damn auto correct, but you all get the gist.
Shots of PtY!
Apparently at Toronado SF now.
Yes, apparently until next week
ISO Donkey Sauce.
Yes, literally nothing is worse than 3 week old Pliny the Younger. Child slavery you say? No, not as bad.
Except for Guy Fieri.
This is true.
I'm waiting for the two most famous Santa Rosans to collab. Vinnie and Guy's Double Donkey Sauce Nacho Cheese IPA. Barrel Aged with Lacto of course.
That's money bro!
And they can name it "The Two Headed Goat" after another famous Santa Rosan!
Any sightings in San Ramon area? Just hit in town and to find some.
And people with no sense of humor.
"I have a GREAT sense of humor, thank you very much."
-Anyone with a terrible sense of humor
The Hopyard in San Ramon gets some, but usually tap it after beer week.
I was at Hopyard last night drinking Elder which as real good. They are not tapping til later next week after I'm gone. Thanks though. Hoping to find it somewhere around the city.
Call Pete's Brass Rail in Danville. They always get it. Toronado is tapping it everyday during beer week.
Pete's won't tap til later next week as well.
Can anyone comment on the situation at obriens right now
There's probably a line stretching all the way to Crab Hut.
Anyone know if any spots in the Sacramento/Davis area are getting any? Last year Burgers and Brew got some but I didn't find out until it was too late.
fixed that for ya !
Well that's irritating to hear. I went out of my way to go to the Bistro on Thurs, arrived about 7:05 PM, and was told by the bartender that they were out already.
Even though your post doesn't jive with the other one saying keg #2 lasted 105 mins, either way they clearly had some when I was there.
Keep your eyes out, Blue Palms in Hollywood gets it every year. I believe they will have it on in the next week or two.
Sorry to hear that you weren't able to drink any younger there. I do know that I got served at 5:15am and when I was leaving at 6:30 they had removes the tap handle and were only pouring elder. I don't see why they would lie about not having any beer left.
Check with Pangaea or Samuel Hornes, I'm sure they will be getting PtY but even if they don't advertise it, it will kick quickly.
Surly Goat as well. We need a kind regular to mention any notifications written on the chalkboard behind the bar.
It pains me that Younger most likely will be at Pangea. They might sell it for $20 a glass, or pair it with another band you never heard for $60 and a chance to buy a pint.
Agreed. Those who go to that place, deserve to be ripped off.
Yes, several places get it. I've had it at 3 different locations now. Hope they figure out to sell tickets.
Ok this is my last day to try to have a couple glasses of the younger. If there are any other places other than Tornado tapping today in SF area please share.
Why the hate for Pangea? I've only been in there once myself, but that is primarily because I work in Davis, and the Davis Beer Shoppe's selection is much better.
Because they are shameless gougers. You know that last year, they announced they were getting a keg of Younger, and to get a taste of it you had to buy a ticket to their event featuring some no name local R&B guy, and it cost $70, right? (And that's just to get in. You still had to buy your beer.) They eventually dropped it to $40 after they couldn't find enough suckers, but that's still totally taking advantage of people. Things like that will engender some bad feelings among local beer geeks.
Anyway, if you live in Davis, the thing to do is just make the 80 minute drive to Santa Rosa. Go on a week day, and you won't have to wait long. Last time I got there at 10:45 and was drinking the Younger by 11:15.
