Cantillon released the list of places taking part in Zwanze this year. And the PNW participants are...

    Drum roll please...

    APEX

    That is all.

I wonder why Brouwers and Seattle in general got dumped after being back on the list last year?

I thought I saw hop and vibe listed somewhere.

Probably info from previous years. Apex has done a good job at playing the Shelton Bros game for awhile, it wouldn't surprise me if this had been a specific goal.

I like that Apex is much more convenient for me to get to than Hop&Vine. Just hope they take some lessons from how to run this event smoothly. H&V did a great job last year.

Brouwers handled Zwanze Day really well last year. Really curious why we got snubbed this year.

Because WA is no place for rare beer.

I lost my mind for a while. My apologies.

I called one of the Urban Family reps to ask & was told that they aren't involved & that I need to contact Shelton Bros, so I called there & left a message.

I know people from Urban Family have posted here, it would be nice if they could chime in & offer additional insight.

What do you want them to tell you, that they don't have enough influence to get a WA event?

You're right. It isn't curious at all that they wouldn't do an event in a major city with a fantastic beer culture. Better to sit around & speculate.

minor correction: there will be one north of the border happening, BC location is still TBA.

You're right, but since the BA overlords don't consider BC part of the NW, I didn't include them.

I hate to complain when Cantillon is on, but last year's event certainly wasn't one of the more memorable events of the year. Also, could the quality of those Zwanze glasses been any lower?

Zwanze this year is 3 year old iris mixed with some kreik, then dry hopped, correct?

First, this years Zwanze sounds awesome!

Second, I'm bummed this went to Apex instead of H&V (and I'm sure I'm in good company here), especially since schedule conflicts kept me from attending until this year. I'd much rather support H&V, and based on my experience with other events there and what I've heard about past Zwanzes, i have no doubt they would have done a killer job with this again this year.
