No worries. I'm not really interested in the bottle share, but was thinking of something local from Seattle that people might like to try. Only a 32 oz. fill, too.

was there always a limit on beer being brought in for the share? I seem to remember it being talked about at every party. Honestly the bottle share is bigger after the events.

About the Mon Clare, I hope no one is staying there since they are getting all butt hurt, I mean they only get packed cuz of the share. Any word on the new share hotel?

Funny - I always thought of the share as a way to distract people that didn't know better, shortening the lines so I could drink more bu.

I've been thinking of doing a bottle share on Friday at belmont station or the commons. Probably shooting for noon. I'm meeting a trading partner but this is open to anyone that wants to join. Not opening anything too rare, maybe some hill and vanilla rye.

I am bringing about 20 bottles to Tillamook, but only 2 to open at the party. Ive always opened way more but thats only because they were big ass beers in my cellar that I just cant stomach any more. Plus, I am a looser with no friends, so it serves as one of few chances I can share beer with people.

Yeah, Chris can likely give a more definitive answer, but I don't think BS generally allows bottle shares. Commons has in the past, but I'm uncertain in the new space which seems to be a lot busier all the time.

After a changing of the guard in bar management they've decided to start welcoming bottle shares. Anyone who wants to just needs to call and speak to Jonathan the bar manager to coordinate it and make sure there aren't any events or other conflicts.

Same rules as other sharing sites: all containers must be opened by a bartender, be nice to the folks opening the bottles and cleaning up after you, and I'm sure they'd appreciate it if you bought a pint or two (or bottles to go).

obligatory tags so people see this: @poliwhirl @crusian @kscaldef

Changing of the guard? Last year? I thought Jonathan has been there like a year now? And good news, thanks!
I can't imagine friday at noon is much of a conflict!

Hey now, give us WA peeps a break. We actually get de Garde legally now. And Republic of Cascadia members should love each other.

It is crazy to think people are flying in for this, though.

People flying in for DLD is crazy to me. After last year's DG anniversary party, I'd say it's definitely an event worth traveling for. I don't know if there is any other event that gives you the same bang for your buck that De Garde parties do (maybe Brews for New Avenues), and their anniversary parties are even more over the top than the others.

Not to thread jack too badly, but since there's a bunch of out of towners reading this thread I thought I'd mention that tickets for Fred Fest are still available, and the beer list is shaping up nicely. There's still a bunch of TBA's but here's what know for sure:

    • Crooked Stave - Port Barrel Aged Nightmare on Brett
    • Firestone Walker - Stickee Monkee
    • Chuckanut - Kolsch & Dunkel
    • Three Floyds - Topless Wytch & Zombie Dust
    • The Bruery - Ould Tart w/ Cherries & Freckle
    • Alesmith - Old Ale & Speedway Stout
    • Grassroots Brewing - Convival Saurez
    • Hill Farmstead - Anna & Arthur
    • 10 Barrel - Peanut Butter Imperial Porter & Russian Imperial Stout with Raspberry Sour
    • Cascade Shrieking Violet 2013
    • Sixpoint Barrel Aged Signal IPA, a bourbon barrel aged Rauch IPA
    • Against the Grain Brewing - Kamen Knuddeln
    • Breakside - Old Golden Ale
    • Ecliptic - White Asteroid Wit IPA
    • Hair of the Dog - Lila Tov
    • Hopworks - Galactic Imperial Red
    • Upright Small World Saison
    • Trinity Koelorado

    Chuckanut in Portland? Niiiice.

I guess I'm just not hardcore enough to consider flying somewhere for a beer event.

That's one of the things I like about living in the NW. The sensible attitude you describe seems to be shared by most people here. I suspect ready access to a lot of great beer without needing to make much on an effort will have that effect on people.

Just asked at Belmont station if we can have a share, they are fine with it
They asked that we show up at 12:15 and that we take care of their bartenders.
I'm sure everyone is okay with this. PM me if you can make it.

Yea can't say I've ever done it either, but if I was going to do it DG would be at the top of the list of breweries to go to. I'm assuming that most if not all people flying in for the event are Keepers members that didn't setup a trustee at purchase though and are picking up bottles.

I'll likely stop by Belmont Station tomorrow if only for a little bit. With a bunch of out-of-towners does preference go to older De Garde bottles or just normal bottle share stuff?

Normal? But older de garde bottles would be cool. I brought a Biere noir that I've been waiting to open.

I assume that this is for tomorrow, Friday, at 12:15 p.m. (i.e., just after noon?)

I'm happy to bring some things to share if it's not already too full/crowded.

Just keep noise down so hotel management doesn't shut it down please.

Had a blast yesterday. All the de Garde beers were solid and loved the guest brews. That O'so Fox and Grapes was stellar.

This is the list of everything I tried from either kegs or guest bottles provided via de Garde. There was more on tap and at the guest bottle area but I didn't see them.

    de Garde
    Imperial Cherry Bu
    Imperial Nectarine Bu
    Beaucoup Violet
    Imperial Marion Bu
    Oude Rruin
    Amarillo Hose
    Citra Hose
    Ex Novo/DG Wonder Twins IPA
    Bier Noir
    Special Rouge
    Imperial Stone Bu
    Imperial Raz Bu
    Petit Lee

    Guest Breweries (bottled unless noted)
    SARA -- Farmhouse Noir
    Hill Farmstead -- Dorothy
    SARA -- Saison Bernice
Modern Times -- Funky Universal Friend (keg)
Modern Times -- Black House with Cocoa and Coconut (keg)
    Upright -- Late Harvest
    Perennial -- Regalia
    O'so -- Fox and Grapes
    Hill Farmstead -- Arthur
    Block 15 -- Sticky Hands

There was also an Oakshire BA beer of some sort that wasn't Hellshire. Block 15's Alpha IPA was on all day. I saw Perennial's Hopfentea and two Rare Barrel bottles (Ensorcelled and Wise Guise). Fremont sent a couple small kegs of B-Bomb down, too.
