Love that taster tray!
Was that Bud Platinum just to see who's paying attention? lol
This was fun to do but admittedly disappointing in the flavor dept.
Consumed with a few non BA folk and also Stigs
Tickers gotta tick man.
Russian River, Best.Flight.Ever.
these little Sunday tastings are getting out of hand
For the extra euphoric quality hops can bring ( not necessarily taste), id honestly say caldera is my favorite. Its like a legal recreational drug and will ward off any hangover pretty much immediately.
It was a rather great night. So many brews!
A little XMas eve eve tasting. Stone RIS '05 - '12 Vertical. The verdict is the older the better with this one, definitely. Had some cheese, entree and dessert pairings. Great times with good buds.
ISO: Older Stone RIS
If youre gonna drink the night before your biggest tasting of the year, you might as well go hard right?
I'd love to have been able to try the Murda'd with this. I did the same tasting back in November. I had a 2009 Darkness though.
I thought all 4 beers were good, but Black Albert and Darkness were the standouts. Baller Stout tasted mostly like Beer Geek Brunch.
How was the Murda'd?
Oktoberfest huge blow out bash. These are just the ones we kept.
And Christmas night: Yes, some one actually drank Bud Light and Westy 12. Not me, but someone.
Had a really nice tasting at my house yesterday with my oldest friend and his 2 brothers! Can't upload pics but here is whatwe opened:
2009 BCBS Bomber
2012 Black Albert
2012 Imperial Stout Home Brew - very nice and smooth
10th Anniv Utopias
2012 Westy XII
2012 White Chocolate
Really nice night and looking forward to many more!
We had a vintage brunch since we were trying to use as close to the same batches of everything used to brew baller. The brunch weasel had almost zero coffee flavor remaining which was a disappointment.
Baller seemed to have elements from all four beers but brunch was the least noticable to us, since it had very little character. Dark lord came through more than I would have liked, man that beer is terrible until it is almost 3 years old.
We had a lot of fun making our own Baller blends with the leftovers in each bottle.
Murda'd was pretty good but not a brew I'd care if I never had again.
I'd like to get another DL to age, but that would mean having to get another one.
The only beer out of the bunch I went out and grabbed another quickly was Darkness. The others I'd be glad to drink again, but wouldn't knock somebody over to have again.

Thanks to zipper8650 for some of the beers, id say we had a pretty great tasting tonight!
For the nine of you? Some people had a good day...
myself, dtx00 (who graciously hosted and provided the vertical), thebouch01, and Davolebomb ran through 03-12 last night. Overall verdict was that most were drinkable at best, with a few really decent ones (09,10), but led themselves to good discussion.
day 2 of a tasting. the less impressive of the two, perhaps!
(day 1 involved murda'd out stout and rare amongst others).

Great beers, great show.
End of year beer tasting. Started with homemade tacos. I used the recipes for the tortilla and filling from a recent BA article. I went for eclectic beer offerings trying to get different beer styles as well as barrel finish. Turned out very nice. The WA BBP and KBS were big hits as was the Rye on Rye.
What happens when the Skins play the Cowboys, there are HUGE playoff implications, you're a Redskins fan, and you're visiting you're good friend who just so happens to be a Cowboys fan? You open some really nice stuff. Thanks to Momar42 and scottk1969 for the bottle share.
Flower Power to start.
Then w moved onto the three-way gueuze showdown between Gueuze Tilquin, 3F Oude Geuze, and Cantillon Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio.
This was the Tilquin. It came in last - but was still damn good.
Forgot to take a picture of the 3F, but it wasn't that pretty anyways. Finished second.
And here's the 'loon. Which was the winner, by the way.
Then Shaun (Momar42) brought out a Lindemans lambic you can't get in 'Murrica. The Cuvee Rene Kriek has nice sourness, but couldn't really compete with the gueuze trio (as expected).
Next was Cigar City Cucumber Saison (note the score on the TV screen ).
After that was Victory at Sea (again, pay attention to the score of the game ).
Then we cracked open some BCBCS. <3
And FFF Rye'd Da Lightning finished off the night for us.
Also included in the night was the Skins beating the Cowboys /gloat, watching the movie Hooper replete with Burt Reynolds badassery and Sally Field's boobage, and also watching that scene in Black Swan where Mila Kunis does happy fun time things with Natalie Portman.
Pretty great tasting...but more interested in how certain bottles are doing at this point. How was the 50th vs. 1999 vs. Millennium trio? Any notable difference in the new anniversary Utopias from the older bottles?
This doesn't come close to including everything from the night... but my buddy just sent me this pretty badass picture with our group photoshopped onto the TV:
i was pretty let down by the 50th, the 99, and the millennium. probably among the worst of the bottles we tried that day. the 10th anniversary utopias blows my mind...really amazing the few times i've had it. the 2003 was holding up nicely, but i preferred the 10th. just seemed like there was more going on in the 10th and a lot more complex.
Had an awesome Christmas tasting, BA Speedway is the truth!
