You landed an Arctic Panzer Wolf???????
Is that a serious post? Its not particularly that rare around here. I've got a ton if you need.
This was part of a three day tasting over Labor Day weekend. My house turned into a mini craft beer compound... ha. I think we had 9 or 10 total different people that took part.
The next picture was a tasting celebrating a friend's 30th birthday... it was an entirely different weekend.
Ah yes, the pictures from the annual Are You Fucking Shitting Me? tasting surface at last.
i was surprised at how good it was. held up amazingly. any ozidation in the beer actually complimented everything else that was going on. it was a great pull, thanks to capra for that gem!!!
I hosted my first tasting last night with some buddies to celebrate the end of another quarter of classes.
Bitches Brew, Gingerbread Stout, Big John, Speedway Stout, Serendipity, Bolt Cutter, Straight Jacket, BCBCS
Amateurs. Didn't you open anything rare?

FW 12 Awesome
Finally got it done. Personal fav's were 04, 07, & 05.
Not bad for two guys at a baby shower.
You saved your embarrassment with that picture
Is that the new batch of Silva? If so, it kinda sucks compared to the previous batch, huh?
I have respect and admiration for everyone who posted a picture or a list. Only been a BA a couple years, and still have a lot to learn and try, but I gotta say, I love the hell out of beer. It's a hobby, a drink and a conversation point all in one, and more.
I've had a few so I'm probably getting overly sentimental. And I'm definitely getting "beer porn syndrome" looking at these pics of obscure beer. Cheers!
Yes it is. It was good, but far from the hype it initially received.
Well, it was a shower for my soon to be newborn. So embarrassment doesn't come into play. This was for my family, so it was just a big celebration event. The next one for friends and random family members isn't going to be as fun I'm afraid.
Gotcha and Congrats
Was down in Miami visiting friends and family after traveling down to Hunahpu day. I brought a few bottles from Chicago, friends brought some stuff, then it was a great tasting.

Pliny vs Heady
07 Abyss vs 12 Abyss
And a few in between.
So, aged Abyss, or fresh Abyss?
The consensus was: Heady>Pliny and 07>12 Abyss, but there was no 08 or 10 involved...
WFT!? Holy SHiza!
Friday night beers with DBD - S&S#6, Origins, KRE, HNR, and DS IPA.
A fun Saturday night with brooklynbrews and a few other friends. The pressure cooker also held some delicious short ribs and the sweet potato/carrot mash were delicious. My favorite beer of the night was the Central Waters bourbon barley wine.
The Gowanus Alliance Mosiac IPA was also very tasty.
The main event was a tasting of almost all of Jolly Pumpkin's lineup, including a couple of rarities (Bambic and Perseguidor #5):
A few other nice beers appeared at break times and to close out the night:
How olde were those OS BWs from DFH? Same with the Bigfoot's? I was just wondering which you like fresh, and which you like aged?
So jealous, I didn't get into craft beers until I stumbled across a 12/12/12 before a friend's party and was like this sounds awesome. I have stumbled across 10s and 11s, but my lead on 6 - 9, was a bust but landed me an OG Belgo and a 16th anniversary. Did you hand dip yours in your own wax?
I was fortunate enough to buy most of these from a friend that either waxed them himself or got them waxed.
A good friend of mine passed away a week ago and his family decided to drink some of the beers that he had as a way to celebrate his life. His last Saturday was Hunahpu day and he had a blast sharing brews with many and he was thrilled to finally get his hands on a Hunahpu.
Condolences to you and your friend's family. Cheers to him and his life!

Well we had a fairly fun barleywine tasting this weekend. A few fresh which I just wanted to try and a few I had been saving. Six of us total. When looking at other peoples tasting list it isn't much but for Galveston I think it was pretty good
Sucaba 2013 (Honestly even without age was the winner)
Arctic Devil 2012 (Good but needs age)
Our Finest Regards (Second best, very different but I loved)
Old Schoole 2010 (#3 on the list)
Sisyphus 10-12 (10 was the best I thought)
Bigfoot 09-13 (10 again I liked the most)
Mirror Mirror 09 (Definitely past, I would recommend drinking if you have it still)
Old Bluehair 2011 (Always a tasty one, if it were slightly cheaper I would get consistently)
An impromptu tasting with a few local BAs after a muling trip:
Windowpane Fig & Raisin
Bon Chien Grand Cru
Side by side: Abner v. Heady (split decision) I preferred Abner. Heady has changed in nose and taste over the last year, IMO.
What does one do when an out of town BA comes to town? Why you call the local crew and pull together a tasting. here was the lineup last night with LiquidDegenerate, thanks for the good times and the wicked hangover.

7eventh Sun - FYA (thanks Jim!!!)
Upright Sole Comp - BA Seven w/ Brett (#11 of 120)
