Another fun Sunday with the regular crew. In no particular order this was the line up. MinorThreat thanks for hosting and the wonderful food! SkeeterBoganski always a fun time buddy and thanks for the beers! DenverBeerDrinker thanks for the beer and getting me home in one piece. Looking forward to our BCBS line up. Cheers!
Only if its a cask bunghole
A bar that I go to. I know the manager and she hooked it up.
That's a mega hook up dude. I hope you hooked her up with some fake chow.
HF x Fantome 5 sciences (Which is absolute garbage btw, tastes like shit, and smells like someone collected throw up and bottled it)
Jackie O's Rum Barrel Aged Oil of Aphrodite
North Coast Old Rasputin XV
Epic Brewing Big Bad Baptist

A little Cinco share yesterday.

Line up for the weekly get together at my place. BA Abraxas was, again, amazing. Assassin was also incredibly solid, as was batch 3 Chocolate Rain. BA Sump, BA 17, & Sede Vacante were big let downs for me.
One of the highlights of the evening... A surprise visit by the Hammer O'Glory of Philadelphia Beer Week Fame.
FV13, Interlude 2012, Sobrehumano palerno, Petrus Gouden Tripel, Transatlantique, Oude Tart, Sour in the Rye, Otiose, Temptation, Beatification, Supplication, Sanctification, Consecration (b1, b6, 2012), Pentagram, Sole Composition, Peche n Brett, Seizoen Bretta, BA Sump, Black Tuesday, BCBS Coffee, BCBS Vanilla.
If I weren't so snockered I would've taken pics at the bottle share before Ananke Day in San Antonio. Had to be a good 200 bottles opened.
my avatar...puh-leese...i bow to yours. kinney james!
Last night with a few awesome BAs
Small two-day tasting with my bro while we watched our kids for the wives.
this went down yesterday:
Saturday night started off great:
And kept rolling into the night; Nooner was quite excellent, but I preferred BCS Vanilla
My personal top 3 was DDG, Cable Car and CdC.
How is CBS holding up?
I had one about two weeks ago and it was fantastic. The flavors were still well blended. The day before I met a rep from Founders who had had one about every 6 months since its release and said it was at its best so far...
Good news, been concerned I need to open my only bottle soon before it fell of, thanks!
yeah it was actually really incredible. still so much going on and the maple is totally still there.
Oh with me thanks buddy
taking a hiatus from drinking until my next baby comes so had 2 epic tastings.
first with the local crew on 5/16...
...and i even got to take the last one home to finish it!
then, just 2 days later with the NYC/hoboken crew...
BA DL set (with 04 regular), 99 Framboos, and way too many other amazing other beers to list out.
There's a vid of the cuvee...er...i mean...drain pours getting poured down the drain...what a waste of BA DL (but hey, they aren't all winners)
Train ride home...
to follow all my beer journeys...check out instagram - http://instagram.com/cosmicevan
uhhh...... gauhhhhhh.... blahhuuhhhhh...... I don't know how to words.
You gotta be kidding me... ^^^ Makes my tastings look like I've been drinking Keystone and Steele Reserve n shit.... Damn
Looks like the kind of tasting id enjoy
Who's that sexy fella photobombing a bunch of those pics???
Any notes on favorites, etc?
We REALLY don't need everybody to quote cosmicevan's post and include pictures. It just makes me feel bad about myself. My cellar is bad and I should feel bad...
Just kidding! I'm swimming with the whalez!
there really wasn't a bad beer in the bunch (although those DL muertes...i just don't get them and 04 DL was the definition of oxidation). many, i was fortunate enough to have had before.
the 99 framboos was not only drinkable, but better than the new version (i still love the homage most though - but 99 was definitely a crowd favorite).
new bourbon vanilla dark lord was better than the last one...all the bourbon and vanillas were still great, but the 11's are starting to show some age. new batch of 50n4e seemed a bit hotter than how i remembered the last batch, but still a winner. pappy 23 (first time having that one for me) was surprisingly hot compared to other pappy experiences for me with the 12, 15, and 20. still oh so smooth though. the mikkeller was such a surprise...i had never heard of it before, and loved it. magic ghost was super cool...tea in beer! dug 50th anniversary 3F more than i did the previous time i had it. i found the new batch of chocolate rain to be really reminiscent of batch 1 but that was very late in the day. and from the other day, the ba church on a hill blew my mind. i had high expectations on that one and it far exceeded them.
the real highlight was the hang. as fun as it is to drink all these crazy beers...by the 2nd or third beer, it doesn't really matter what is getting open, we are all hanging out and just having fun and trying to keep up because the beer quickly becomes secondary. great to meet oldport (and your lady) and see guisseppe for one of these crazy ones...and always a great time seeing totor, grumpy, speedwhale (and schen), dtmets, and jbuddle (although briefly). as always thanks to our generous host and everyone for bringing the heat and good times.
miraculously i didn't break anything on the way home, but did break 2 glasses during the tasting (for shame...i know) - by the way ISO 3F (not FFF) glassware
you act like it is an anne hathaway gif.
Please tell me you didn't break the 3F stemmed glassware...
I want one so badly
ok, i won't tell you
Evan, I swear to god, if you send me a glass to replace that I will not be happy. Please, PLEASE do not send me something to replace that! And Dan will also survive without his geuze taster or whatever he calls that little thing.
One will be in the mail for you on Friday. Cheers!
