not pictured include a 2011 Dissident, a half-growler of The Vine 2012, and a 2nd can of fresh Heady Topper. The MBC, which you can barely discern, is Lunch.

This gets me excited for the beer hunt I am going on this summer. My brother in law,l dad, and myself are taking a little trip up to Vermont..... I have never had a Lawson's or HF.

Zombie Dust is the quintessential crushable Pale (really an IPA!) along with HF Edward, but Sucks is right behind them. HF Single Citra is (to me obviously) the only beer that uses Citra better than ZD and might be my favorite beer in the world. I would love to do a blind tasting of all four! As it is now these beers always have a place in my fridge, especially during the summer months!!

Zombie Dust is worth seeking out, both are very different:ZD is an APA and Sucks a IIPA, but they are both great

First, that is an amazing post, well done! You're not kidding about Double Sunshine being hard to get...I haven't had any of this year's batch(es) yet! At least HF is open four days a week, you can just drive up there to get it on a Saturday if you want to. My personal ranking of IIPAs is as follows:

    1. Society and Solitude #5 (without a doubt the best beer I've ever had).
    2. Heady
    3. Double Sunshine
    4. Abner
    5. Society and Solitude #4

I was lucky enough last summer to do Heady vs. Double Sunshine vs. Abner all at the same time. Heady took the crown for me, but that was as close as it comes. Double Sunshine (last summer anyway) was just insanely great. A word to the wise chasing down Vermont IPAs, Abner is not to be forgotten. It goes toe-to-toe with the best in the world, and it's pretty much always available at HF.

Also, I may be alone here, but in the question of HF Double Citra and HF Double Galaxy, I feel these are both a step below beers on my list above. And Ephraim, for me, is nowhere close to this list. In fact, I prefer HF Citra over Double Citra. Sessionable and citra-riffic! And Susan, good God Susan was awesome. HF Simcoe was a freaking beast of a 5.5% beer too.

    I like living in Vermont.

We did this tonight. From L to R: CCB Cervezas Frescas: Horchata, Three Floyds Permanent Funeral, Russian River Pliny the Elder, Foothills Brewing Sexual Chocolate, Big Boss Brewing Aces & Ates and Big Operator, Great Divide Claymore Scotch Ale, Duck-Rabbit Brown Ale, Fort Collins Chocolate Stout, CCB Brandy Barrel* Aged Hunahpu, 7venth Sun Saison in Paradise and Saison Extreme. I know it's not very impressive but it was fun.

100% agree, my range is still somewhat limited but I have yet to find anything that blows me away like that one. HFS Ephraim is my next one down, but I need to expand my HFS reviews first before I'll know for sure. Sounds like another fill trip is in order!

    two questions:

    1) how bad was your gas the next day? I did a similar tasting... and I learne that barley wines might be the worst for causing gas.
    2) how do you tag people in a forum post?

This is the one we had on Memorial Day weekend. Turned out great, and of the four guys involved in the tasting, everyone had a different favorite.

From last night. Not pictured: 4 pack of Hoptimum, Brouwerji West Quad, Port Brewing 7th Anniversary DIPA. The Smoking Wood I brought was infected. Ugh. The Firestone Double DBA was the one we all agreed on.

Really nice turnout at the weekly Wednesday Niche Geneva bottle share. The beers were all over the board, but it was certainly a fun time.

Reubens were #1, definitely. I mean look at it. Also appreciate the CJ photo-bomb as he reaches into his cooler to grab another shelf turd!

It was the Coffee and the Cherry, and not due to these both being sub par, they are fantastic, but mostly due to the fact that we all had already drank a couple bottles of each at prior tastings and on our own.

My first tasting photo. From my birthday last night. The only thing that wasn't good was the Fantome (my first bad bottle and drain pour.)
