Dropped by Olde Hickory for some Manhattan & Blendy Bar. Cheers!
Small haul, all new to me except for Breakfast Stout.
Paid ~$22 for the bomber pack. Hard to beat that.
Nice to get a little Modern Times in MA. Oh, and Grimm sours are always welcome in my stomach.
Admittedly, I didn't take a picture of the actual bottle, but I picked up my first Real Serious Bomber tonight and wanted to share. After work, I went to the liquor store next door to get some Guinness for tomorrow evening's beef stew. Somewhere between taking the sixer of Guinness from the cooler and leaving the store, I let the cashier talk me into separating myself from $18 for this limited-release and apparently very special stout from Perrin.
I paid for the Guinness and then noticed the Unfinished Business on the counter. "What's this? How much does it go for?" I asked, ostensibly for future reference. The guy told me it was $18, deposit included. Said he should have been selling it for $20 before deposit, but that was too much, so he charged less. "Maybe not today", I said. I was informed that it's very tightly allocated and he only was given half a case to sell, and he had two left. It was at this point that I deeply inhaled and opened my wallet back up. "Let's do it, I guess".
I hope it's good. $18 for me is still kind of a lot for one bottle right now. Tonight was just another example of how very suggestible I am. I'm sitting at a few over 480 beers anyway, I might hang onto this and make it #500.
Quick haul after work:
Funny how things work that you said finally about Share This. A lot of the Bruerys beers sit on shelves for a year at a time around here. Maybe due to price.
It's good to have friends
Some Thursday afternoon beer mail courtesy of @capnmike
Not exactly a haul it wa a happy to finally see this on the shelf
Nice little care package--finally some Bissell!
Awesome finds in Boston today of all places, hit the jackpot!
@Davepoolesque absolutely killed it yet again, like a month after his last box. The newest Soak, a full replenishment of cans, my first Bissell, and my special request of Albricot. So pumped!
A trio of bombers with big abvs...
A pair of 4-packs including some fresh FBS...
A couple of tallboys I've never had before...
And a can of...
A nice little haul.
If this box was not amazing enough the picture is missing a growler filled with awesomeness that sadly was not able to join his friends for this group picture due to my own negligence.
Weyerbacher Sunday Molé Stout (with coffee, cocoa, cinnamon, ancho, pasilla, mulato and chipotle peppers)
Bissell is an awesome brewery. Who would've thought Portland, Maine would have a such a good beer scene for a relatively small place (besides Foundation and Bissell, they also have Allagash).
Picked up a couple of six packs and a few Virginia brews:
Pumpkin Hunter brewed by Devils Backbone in Lexington, VA.
Pumphin Ale and Secret Admirer DIPA brewed by Alewerks in Williamsburg, VA.
RVA IPA brewed by Hardywood in Richmond, VA.
Farmers Harvest Pale Ale 2016 brewed by Three Notch'd in Charlottesville, VA.
Just waiting on Aslin...
Sorry, but his line that he should be charging more for it is a bit of BS. $18 was the price at the release at Perrin, which is usually higher than what it comes out at retail. The Lansing area saw this for about $15 a bottle. Only way he should have been charging $20 is if he really likes to gouge his customers.
Where in MI are you? PM me if you prefer.
Here in SE Michigan if the label say BBA, expect to pay $3-$5 more per bottle. Except for a small few shops.
Not so much of a haul as it was a little 4 person buddy share.
2015 Mother of All Storms
Pisgah Mountain County
2004 Thomas Hardy's
2016 Uncle Jacob's
2009 Firestone 13 Anniversary
Elysian is new to Mi. Picked up some Space Dust finally. Cant wait to try. Also the new Kalamazoo Stout 6er, a classic stout for the season, love the new lable Bells. Then finally the golden goose egg!
Actually this was sold to me by pure generosity. Stone Oakmeal. Thanks again Vinnie! You rock man.
Buddy hooked it up on his latest trip to boston! Thanks @midmichmatt!
New day, new beer haul.
From left to right: Dogfish Head 90 Minute Imperial IPA, Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA, Omnipollo Noa Pecan Mud Cake - Double Barrel, Bells Kalamazoo Stout, Victory Storm King Imperial Stout,
Crooked Stave Nightmare on Brett (Raspberry), Cigar City Puppy’s Breath Robust Porter, Cigar City Big Sound Scotch Ale, Evil Twin Even More Jesus and The Bruery Share This Coffee.
Great day to be me.
Price probably has to do with it here in Illinois, although I have noticed in the last couple of years that the ones that are gone or almost gone are the ones everybody talks about, especially the 12 Days of Christmas.
I can't remember last time I bought an IPA in the store--thanks to these awesome BAs!
My share of the latest batches of Grimm hoppy stuff. Plus a couple of the Finback coffee ipa to try.
Small beer mail today, but been waiting to try this for a while. It will probably sit on my basement bar collecting dust for a few years, or that is the plan at least.
Got this awesome box from @MosaicDrops
Sunday Mole Stout
Drive 40 minutes each way for these guys. Last two in the store they were nice enough to hold for 24hrs for me until i got off work. Most expensive haul of 4pks this year so far but if it tastes like mole, then it's worth it to me, plus ill gift a few. Love me some latin food, will be trying tonight
Blowin up my basement
Some interesting stuff:
They might be empty, but I'm super stoked I got these!!!
Love me some Central Waters BB
Zappa love! Who put these out?
