Some stuff I picked up to round off my first weekend of vacay...

Great haul from Bosie Idaho. IPAS, Pales, lagers and a Sasion or two. Actually added two more 6 packs and 4 singles after this pix was taken. LOVE bringing home beers that I can't get at home!

 

I made a one day out-of-state beer run to a couple of beer stores yesterday after dropping the women-folk at an outlet mall. My first stop was the Historic Casanova liquor store and Nova restaurant/taproom in Hudson Wisconsin, just across the river from the Twin Cities. I had a Dogfish Head Raison D'Être and an amazing burger, then on to beer hunting in the incredible craft beer section of the adjacent liquor store.

To some living in other parts of the country, the selection might not be so incredible, but in this part of the country, particularly compared to South Dakota, it is amazing. They have crowlers from local breweries, growler fills from 20 taps, kegs, plenty of Wisconsin craft, and even macro. They had wine and liquor sections which I completely ignored. If you're ever traveling between Minnesota and Wisconsin on I-94, be sure to visit. They are open every day, including holidays.

I also stopped at a Total Wine in the Twin Cities, and was able to pick up a number of new beers, including the DeuS Brut Des Flandres, which will be style #99 on my quest to try all 104 BA recognized styles. I had hoped to find more of them, and in fact bought what I thought would be #98, only to note last night that I obliviously had that style by drinking a random suggested beer at a taproom two weeks ago.

The last picture with the Central Waters and New Glarus beer is for friends, and so I didn't have to take the blame for buying so much beer for myself! Really looking forward to trying some of these cult beers. The Xocoveza is certainly well out of date since it is brewed in the fall, so not sure how those will be as I've seen some stories of gushers.

 

For me this is a haul !

 

Haul this weekend from Asheville, N.C. I went to as many breweries as possible in three days. Some of these aren't local, but I cannot get them where I live. Excited!

 

Made my first visit to Sand City Friday, which also happened to be my first ever beer release.
Had one Even Mo Mofo already (dug it), and a Burning Down the House is on deck for dinner tonight.

 

Was there on Thursday, so I didn't get to take home any cans, but got to try both. Even Mo' is awesome.

This should definitely be a mini haul.
Visit to Barreled Souls lead to acquisition of
Big Bang Barley Wine: Bourbon barrel and Apple Brandy barrel aged. The third bottle is a beer called Blonde on blonde, a blonde barley wine aged in Rye barrels.

Shout out to @Davepoolesque for a box of summer crushers before vacation last week. My buddies were in town Friday and we put a hurting on those cans.

 

Results of another New England beer run. Wanted to hit a few more spots (Allagash, Bissell Bros, Foundation, Hill Farmstead, etc) but I was running short on time. I did stop in Canton to check out Trillium, but I exercised some self-control and just tried some beers instead.

A co-worker went on a little road trip over the weekend....Advantage Me! Stocking up for the long weekend ahead. the stoic is one of my all time favorites and I've only ever tried 1 Avery so I'm excited to try each of those.
