Our taxes sure add up. We pay about $18 for a 6 pack one province over from where it is brewed!

    Great belgium styles beers though.

I only picked up one BCBS #4 Oatmeal initially, and a Covert Artisan Operation Dreamsicle sour. My go-to store is going to hold a Regular, a Kentucky Fog, and an Oatmeal when they get it. I wanted this one to review in the Online BCBS Tasting thread tonight.

Went to Trader Joes to look for Sierra Nevada Celebration. Didn't have it so I soothed my anguish with some other finds. The two on the far left (Modern Times Elara hazy and Brouwerij West Picnic Lightning hazy) I picked because I like. The far right one I got because wife insisted. The middle two have a total of 1 BA review between them, so I'm treading into uncharted territory: The Single Fin hazy is a Mike Hess (San Diego) offering and I tend to like their stuff more than the BA ratings for his other beers suggest I should. The Cosmic Pyrokinesis is from Mother Earth. Described as Oats+German pale wheat with Mosaic, Amarillo, El Dorado and Belma hops. American IPA at 6.7% ABV. All these were only about 30 days old.[IMG]

Thanks, all but the Prop (had to pick between Prop and BD). I passed on waiting a 4-5 hours outside Friday morning, but then received a text later in the morning from the owner, so was happy. BD and Anniversary were the main two I wanted to try, figure I'll get to the rest at some point. I was even more excited about Drago and the Fernet bottles on Monday (the day I entered), had one in March and really liked it. If this one holds up well, will grab the rest at the store.

Speaking of nice, your score is most impressive, extra Weller and great back year variants as well. Many here trashed Northwoods, but I liked it at the time and very curious how it is holding up now.

Forgot the potency of 16.9 oz bottles. I thought I could handle two bottles a day, but I have one more in me for tomorrow, before transitioning to mostly light beers to start the next week. 2 or 3 BA stouts per week is the max for me these days, FOBAB weekend the exception.

    Cheers!

I never had Fernet until I tasted it in Lake Effect's beer. Pulled out at the start of the quarantine lock down, here is my review. I am going to try it this week and if still good stored on the store shelves (vs. cellar or refrigerator) will pick up a few more. It's one of my top rated beers / BA stouts of all time, and I rarely give out 5.0s/4.75s.

Lake Effect can be hit or miss. Their recent BA Fannie's Chocolate tasted like a shot of Jim Beam dumped in a too sweet milk stout. However, when they are on they are great. That's why I keep going back, even after a Jim Beam Chocolate Milk Boilermaker, though I believe it was their first beer I ever rated under 3.0.
