Latest box courtesy of bozodogbreath. His first trade fellow BA's.... This dude knows what's up!
That black quad is amazing. One of the best bottled beers to come out of Texas, I think. It was a seriously ingenious idea on Real Ale's part.
Small little haul today... Nomnomnom
Well I am mighty jealous of all the cases of Hopslam, but still got a very solid haul that I am extremely excited about.
Thanks Tom! You da man.
Trade from Chicago
Stopped by my local Total Wine to pick up Founder Imp Stout and came out with additional goodies.....darn.
Case swap for guys from work that I arranged. Mostly casual craft fans so i picked all 12 cases. How did I do? Had to keep it around 50 bucks on PA prices. Ended up as $50.42/case or something with tax.
Black Choc stout
Thanks LiquidDegenerate for the awesome box!
Lemme guess...a little Head-high action?
This one took some doing...definitely not going to find these at the gas station in September a la Shipwreck!!
Some goodies I got through trades!
Is that a new batch?
Circleo12 killed it with another tasty box!
Insane box from perhaps one of the most generous souls that I've ever dealt with on BA, camil1mj.....keep in mind, he did me the service of being my "proxy" for the Winter Solstice and this was the full haul. So incredible. The seriously crazy part? Sent me the BBBW (limit 1) as an extra. The mind wobbles...and on top of that, his buddy helped me out with a replacement black logo tulip that I clumsily destroyed in a freak pillow-fighting accident (long story). Big ups to a long-time trading partner. Mike, you're not just a man, you're the man.
Got this yesterday
Far right is a homebrew freshly bottled.
Yep! Just came out
That doesn't not make sense...
Prices aside, you can't go wrong with hoppin frog after you pay for it
My gal said "Hey! That liquor store has lotto tickets. Wanna stop?" Who am I to say no to my girlfriend?
The little haul with a couple of big tastes! It'll be my first time for both and thanks to you all in the "What are you drinking now" posts for inspiring this latest haul. Cheers! (Sorry 'bout the crappy photo.)
Splurged in Seattle...
Some beers from the island of Goose in the county of Bourbon.
sherm1016 had these waiting for me on a recent trip to Milwaukee
Had a box of MN awesome plop on my porch yesterday courtesy of Schlais. You killed it Ryan!
Most recent trade with TheHooch minus the BCBS, cant wait to try em all!
then heres the whole collection minus a few HF Saisons and randoms
Dated between 1972 and 1986
That's killer....exactly the type of haul that I like to see....
BTW, the last couple bottles of that Guinness Silver Jubilee that I've opened were absolutely delicious. Almost took on a nice smokey sweetness over the years. Infinitely better than any fresh Guinness that I've had.
Damn, really? Can't wait to open it now, especially as it was only £4
I've actually had quite a few great experiences with a whole slew of Silver Jubilees.....only a few duds out of maybe 20 or so. The Guinness was one of the bigger surprises as expectations were immediately low. I'd assume that the original base recipe had something to do with it......perhaps similar to the Foreign Export.
I'd encourage you to track down an Ansell's Silver Jubilee if you have the means. Still one of my favorite "uber-vintage" beers to date.
A few goodies I picked up this morning.
The moment of anticipation:
followed by the big reveal:
Evolution #3 x 6
Green Flash West Coast IPA x 4
Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA x 6
DC Brau Corruption
Boulevard Double Wide
Terrapin Oak Aged Big Hoppy Monster
plus 2 of the trader's APA home brews!
Had a vague idea what my end of the trade was going to be.....didn't expect it to be this sweet! Thanks Evan.
You *should* be getting another box o' joy today as well. Hopefully, not too many repeats!
Schlais is a good buddy of mine. He's the man!
Cheers for the tip, i'll keep an eye out for it
