Thought vanilla was OK only and coffee was TX only due to some OKABC law prohibiting sale of the coffee in Oklahoma...?

According to their facebook page Vanilla is TX and OK only. Coffee is TX only.

What? That doesn't make sense. The brewery is based in OK and it has got to have rights to sell its own beers in its own state. I'm baffled ATM.

I think it's because of stupid OK beer laws. Maybe something to do with caffeine?

As a Texan, I do not think we should question this. We should just accept it and smile. And let them take our money. Damn Okies.

Their Facebook saying Vanilla is OK and TX only was in response to my comment, and I'm not entirely sure they were talking about Vanilla when they said that.

    My comment was this:
"So I saw Coffee Noir was TX-only (Thank you!), is Vanilla Noir coming to TX? What about Prairie Noir?"

A few seconds later they commented this:

    "OK and TX only."

Isn't it possible they were clarifying what I'd said about Coffee and not giving an answer on Vanilla Noir?

And for what it's worth, when the Moth had Pirate/Bomb on tap, I spoke to Prairie's local distributor and he said that Bomb would hit at the end of November and Noirs would hit in December. He was only off by a week with Bomb, so I'd have to think we're either getting Noirs in late December or early January.

Thank you for posting this. I knew they specifically said Coffee was TX only. They listed a statement about the reason why, but I don't remember what it was.

@GreatBloomer it may not make any sense, but it is the truth.

It's about a crazy law but it has nothing to do with coffee. Something about limited quantities must be dispersed evenly throughout the state. I don't know the exact law but thats the jist of it.

Seems like it deals with this: http://www.oscn.net/applications/oscn/DeliverDocument.asp?CiteID=78095

I didn't mean coffee in general...I was referring to the Coffee Noir beer itself.

From what I understand, there isn't enough to evenly distribute it in Oklahoma which is against the law? This makes no sense however because the biergarten in jenks frequently gets the only cases of beers we for some reason get 4 cases of as a state.
