Prairie - Whiskey Barrel Aged Bomb

Just because a brewery charges a certain amount doesn't mean their beer is intrinsically better than a cheaper beer.

I think Cherry Funk is alright and didn't get the metallic issues others had, but didn't get the cherry or the sour that would make me buy an $11+ pint again.

 

FWIW, I thought Cherry Funk was nice. Once I let the beer breath a little bit the flavors became more attenuated. I didn't get a metallic taste or a lot of cherry for that matter, but I still enjoyed it.

 

I did not love Cherry Funk, but sure has hell liked it better than the Epic Brainless on Cherries (or Raspberries for that matter)...

 

The market will dictate value, the the SW forum think tank.

 

I found Epic Brainless on cherries to be really thin and boring. It really didn't have much flavor good or bad. I loved cherry funk but I can see the price point turning some off.

Epic Brainless on c/p/r are all great. Maybe just not what you were expecting or looking for out of it.

 

Its just no where remotely worth the price.

 

Yes, because I was expecting a blend that was somewhat balanced and actually had some attributes of the fruit that it was aged on in the profile, neither of which the two different ones I tried featured. (Note: I have not tried Peaches as of yet.)

Just my opinion of course.

 

I had brainless on cherries once, and it had a ton of cherry flavor. I didn't know it was a barrel aged beer, I just though cherry juice was added

 

They forgot to add the cherries to the bottle I had.

I've only had Raspberries (about a year ago) and I too think it's too expensive for what it is. From what I remember of Raspberries, I find Founders Rubaeus a better raspberry beer and a four pack is cheaper than the Epic bomber.
