I will do some of my own research as well, but I am traveling back to the states for a few days in June and want to find a shop/shops that have vintage or rarer bottles. It's ok if they are a bit pricey, as I want to bring them back to Japan with me. I will be in the LA area, but will be traveling all around SoCal coast and have a car. Feel free to BM me if you don't want to openly disclose a location or if you want to trade some hard to gets for bottles of Cantillon (various style/vintage). Thanks!
Lone Hill Liquor in Glendora Stearn's Liquor in Long Beach Bruery Provisions in old town Orange K&L Wine in Hollywood Hi Time Wine in Costa Mesa and Wally's Wine in LA. Those are all great bottleshops.
You can check out K&L's stock online as well prior to making the trip. If you place an order through their site, they set it aside and have it ready for you for pickup.
which is great because their Northern California stores have a bigger selection. I always like that they post their inventory on the site
All great suggestions so far. Wades Wines & Green Jug are also good, but know that going from say Hi-Times, to K&L, Green Jug & Provisions are 1 hour long treks between them, at a minimum. LA & OC, & Ventura are big county's, so it's a sprawingly area, so shop online, call ahead, and plan your route if your going to drive around. Good luck, hope you find some your looking for.
Thanks for the feedback. I will be all over the LA area, so I will just stop by most of the places while I am there. If any BA's are interested in meeting up at The Bruery while I'm there in June, shoot me a BM.
I think ive only gone once when he wasnt there. Now I just call his cell and say when are you gonna be there. Cheers!
