Sounds like they have distro issues
What was that 2 days?
Something like that considering they said they were bottling it on Friday, lol! I can't wait for it to hit over in Dallas, this is the one beer from them that I will go out of my way to get.
Any word of this coming to Austin?
I see lots of Rahr here in Houston.. I'd like to try this if it makes it down...
H0rnedFr0gs told me CM in Fort Worth (30 and Hulen) got a huge shipment earlier this week. And by huge I mean about 100 cases.
I had 3-4 bottles of this years so far. It really is an outstanding beer in every way..maybe the bourbon came out a little stronger on my last '11 bottle. In honor of the near constant summer in TX, Rahr needs to make a summer batch as well. I can't invest too much on this with 2 Jester King beers coming this month.
I saw the pic Rahr posted on FB, yeah, it looked like they got a huge shipment. If it doesn't hit in Dallas soon, I'll be making a trip to CM FW.
Yeah, will have to head out there this weekend to pick some up. Glad to hear it's drinking well.
"And it's just my opinion but Treehugger is insanely good and probably tops for a TX BW's.[/quote]
Not probably...most definitely...
Spec's Downtown has no idea. Nor about Abyss, either. They also said Goose Island isn't sold in Texas. A clueless group there since Lindsey left.
It's worth the drive if you're getting 6+ bottles. I wanted a case last year, I got tired of trying to find it in Dallas, went to Ft Worth CM... It was BAWW heaven!
I'll be in Dallas this weekend. Sounds like I shouldn't waste my time looking for it there, but should head west?
Is there a good beer store in Mesquite or Garland where this could be picked up? I have inlaws there who could grab me some.
Cm guy told me it was actually 400. Last year they sold through 180 cases in less than a week... So this year they got over half the production.
Holy guacamole!! I believe it. I was surprised I got two cases, lol.
rahr still in business? hmm..
You "got" 2 cases??!? I've bought a case of it for the past 3 years(and about 6 bottles in '09) and I thought "I" was the "nut"... .
Lmbo! Sorry, I meant my store got two cases. I'm only buying two bottles. I only decided to start cellaring beer about a month ago.
Which store, and holy crap you look short. Thats a guys shoulder in your pic, yes?
I believe AD Beer & Wine in Garland (Oates Dr & O'Banion) got some last year. I don't think there are any decent stores in Mesquite.
Lol! Seth I bet that could be said for lots of gals who end standing next to you in pics. Maybe she's just standing next to a really tall dude.
I don't find that too surprising... they live in Mesquite, but of course Garland is really close.
its now Available at E1G -
Just saw your tweet. I'll definitely be coming by!
Does this mean it is rolling into Austin now?
I just picked up a handful at the WF in Arlington off Lamar
My wife picked up a bottle for me at Total Wine FW over the weekend.
Year round!year round! year round!
(Repeat refrain til compliance)
With all the special BBAWW events, sometimes I feel like it is.
are these going to hit Houston any time soon ?
I sure hope so. I would love to be able to get my hands on some of this.
It should be today.
Picked up 2 bottles at Specs Round Rock just now. Beer guy told me they got 3 cases, and 1 is already gone. FYI. I'll be enjoying a bottle with the chili and cornbread I'm making tonight.
I've had this beer aged MANY times, and it's always best when fresh. For me, I would rate the fresh version about an 8.5, and an aged version about a 6.5. The Rahr crew brought in some cold-stored BBAWW from the brewery to our radio show, and it was metallic and had faded in flavor in general. I've tried it way too many times, and it disappoints me every time. So I agree with greenspointtexas on this one.
Last year they produced 1,000 cases. I suspect it is probably more this year.
Any locations in Dallas received this yet? Going to be making a roadtrip from Texarkana to pick some up. Thanks!
Lonestar Beverages in Carrollton posted that he has plenty right now, and no limit on how many you may want to purchase.
Looks like I'll be making a trip up to RR in a little bit. Thanks for the heads up, and hopefully they'll still have a bottle or two left.
Thank you for the help!
