Hey everyone, Ray's shot out a new Beer Newsletter to subscribers today with the great news of them opening up a Growler Gallery above their current location, and next to their wine tasting room. Below is the newsletter sent out. You can also follow them on twitter at: @raysbeer @rayswine @raysgrowler.

    Dear Ray's Craft Beer Lovers,

Good afternoon to all! Milwaukee Beer Week 2014 is here and we felt that there could be no better time than right now to share with you some exceptionally exciting news! In fact, in Ray's 53 year history, today's news is one of the biggest announcements that we have ever had the pleasure of sharing. It has truly been a labor of love and it is our goal that this new project will be the most exciting thing to happen in Wisconsin's craft beer culture.

So, about four years back, Ray's Wine and Spirits expanded and opened up a brand new Tasting Room and Educational Facility, known as (ever so imaginatively!) Ray's Tasting Room and Educational Center. Well, after YEARS of discussion, research, and study, we decided to utilize Ray's unique building structure of having a completely separate entrance and second floor (and thus separate licensing), to take Ray's Tasting Room and Education Center one step further...

Ladies and gentlemen, in just a few short weeks (tentatively!), Ray's Tasting Room and Educational Center will have a new theme, purpose, and name behind it! Introducing:

    Ray's Growler Gallery

Yes, in mid-June (Grand Opening details, tap list, and tap take-over events will be revealed at a later date!), Ray's Growler Gallery - An Artful Expression of Craft Beer, will be open and ready for your enjoyment! For those folks that follow us on Twitter or Facebook, you may have noticed us teasing 'Project X'. Project X is Ray's Growler Gallery, a Beer-Centric Universe that will be open Thursdays,Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Ray's Growler Gallery will be dedicated to bringing Milwaukee, if not all of Wisconsin, the best, freshest, and most creative beers direct from the tap to your home. The best part about the Growler Gallery is that every single beer that we tap into will either be a beer made EXCLUSIVELY for the Gallery, a rare brewery-only release, or a special selection that will NOT be available anywhere in bottle.

Simply put, the mission statement behind Ray's Growler Gallery is to elevate and enhance the beer culture and quality for all Wisconsin beer lovers!

So while this Newsletter, @RaysBeer, @RaysWine, and ourFacebook Page will still be your go to source for what's new in the world of Ray's, the @RaysGrowler will be your up-to-the-minute feed for what fresh goodies are on tap once the Gallery is open!

    The Freshest Beer in Milwaukee...
    Just got Fresher!

    What are Growlers?

Growlers are the perfect vessel for transporting the freshest beer directly from the tap to your glass. Growlers come in many different shapes, colors, and styles, but the two most common sizes are 64oz and 32oz (we've taken to calling this lil guy a "Duckie" but you can call it what you want). But no matter what your growler looks like on the outside, know that when you fill it at Ray's Growler Gallery, the liquid inside will be some of the best around!

    Why We Love Growlers!

    +Freshness

    +Supporting Local Brewers

    +Environmentally Friendly

    +Delightfully delicious beer!

    What's Coming?

A Sneak Peek of Ray's Growler Gallery Grand Opening!

Here are just a few of the breweries you can look forward to enjoying with us in roughly six weeks (still tentative) for the Growler Gallery Grand Opening!

    -Solemn Oath

    -Karben4

    -Black Husky

    -Three Floyds

    -Hinterland's
    Ray's Exclusive:

    IrRAYsistible Rye

    and...

A certain beer aged in Pappy van Winkle Barrels.

Please note: As with any grand opening, this lineup is subject to change, but we will keep you updated every step of the way!

This is only the beginning of something great. We have a ton of fun things in the works including new, exclusive beers from Wisconsin's most talented brewers, tap take-overs (Solemn Oath, O'so, and New Holland are just a few tap take-overs scheduled for you to look forward to!) with brewers and brewmasters from around the country, and plenty of the rarest, geekiest, and best brews around!
    All the Details

Initially Ray's Growler Gallery will be solely a growler filling station. While we will be able to give you samples to try before you buy, folks will not be able to pull up a chair and sip on a pint (yet!). All growlers will be sealed and labeled, and will be solely for take away, so that you can enjoy the freshest beer in the comfort of your own home.

Although we are still finalizing the Growler Gallery's operating hours, Ray's Tasting and Educational Center will still be open for Wine, Spirit, and Beer events (as well as being available to rent for private functions) Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday every week.
So swing by our Tasting Room Calendar to see the updated schedule of events!
    Last, But Not Least

We have a new member to welcome to the Ray's Twitter Family! Follow the Growler Gallery on Twitter @RaysGrowler!

So while this Newsletter, @RaysBeer, @RaysWine, and our Facebook Page will still be your go to source for what's new in the world of Ray's, the @RaysGrowler will be your up-to-the-minute feed for what fresh goodies are on tap once the Gallery is open!

We don't often ask, but we are really excited about our new adventure, so please, if you have a moment, use the social media buttons at the top to share the news with your friends, family, and anyone else who enjoys fresh, delicious beer!

    #RaysGrowlerGallery

    Cheers!

Ha, as if I don't spend enough money at Ray's. Kick ass news, and I can't wait to see the first lineup.

Meh. I don't live anywhere near Ray's and only stop there if I'm in the neighborhood, which is not often.

Meh II. Ray's is always $1 to $2 more per 4/6-pack than most other bottle shops so I don't see myself spending too much of my hard-earned money for their "Growler Gallery". Cool idea though.

The main thing here that is so awesome is the rare one-off brews that will be on tap. There are going to be beers made exclusively for Rays Growler Gallery that you will never be able to get anywhere else. Pair that with other awesome breweries local and non local, that is amazing.

Yeah, we're definitely not the cheapest place around, but we do have the freshest beer in the city and hopefully a well crafted selection. Plus, when we have coupons, the prices are always the lowest, legal mark up.

But, the best news is that it won't take many of your hard-earned moneys to fill up a growler with great beer. So I hope to see you around. Cheers.

Can't wait to see what you think of the first lineup! We've got some great breweries really excited and having fun with it, so they're busting out some great barrels. Should be good!

Considering Rays is 4 blocks from my house, and they do have very fresh beer, this is pretty cool. How much are the Growlers going to cost?

That's a good question. I'd assume it would depend if its 32oz or 64 oz and which beer you chose. And it would probably be competitively priced to other growler places

This sounds awesome to me and I don't live anywhere near. I might have to make a special trip if something good comes up on tap.

Glad you think this is cool! We're pretty excited for it too.

And as far as prices go, we are still working on that with the breweries, but it's looking like the majority of 64oz fills will land between 12-20. There will be a few that get up over $20 (KBS, BCS, other whales like that), but we are going to work really hard to keep the prices reasonable.

And the most important thing is just to keep letting us know what you think of the place, because we do want this to be a community effort to bring the best, freshest, and most unique beers to Milwaukee! Cheers and see you there!

I'm interested, but as others have said I'm not physically close to the store. Nothing in the original lineup is something I want to go there for. I'm sure in the future I will check it out, but the beer has to be worth it

Worth a trip if they have something you want on for growler fills.

With 6 taps, I haven't been blown away by the selection yet. Nice to get Howler on tap, but didn't think it was that much better than the bottle.

For 32 oz? I doubt it would go much higher than $20.

Some of the BA Oso 32 oz were $20 so I'm going off that. With it being the mighty KBS I would think they would charge just as much if not more. Don't get me wrong I hope it's $15 but I don't see that happening.

I think it's one of those things that sounds better than it really is. I'd rather have 4x12 oz bottles for $20-$25.
