I have really developed a deep liking for stouts. i have coffee stouts (FBS, WnB, GD Espresso), chocolate stouts, but really like fruit flavored stouts.,.i wish i had gotten a sixer of Bells Cherry last year when it was on the shelves, and this year it is not going to be brewed...aside from BCS Cherry, can anyone suggest a fruit (primarily cherry) stout that i would be able to get rather easily in a trade (locals) or on shelves in the coming months? thanks!

am planning on beginning homebrew at the beginning of the new year...i will probably get to doing a fruit stout, but will probably start out with something a little lighter (maybe ipa or pilsner).

    New Glarus Cherry Stout
    Central Waters Cherry Stout

Both from WI. Shouldn't be too hard to trade for.

Bells Cherry Stout, not sure how readily available it is though.

New Glarus Cherry Stout is phenomenal. I think it's amazing, and always drink my fill when I can get it.

In my opinion, Bell's Cherry Stout is terrible.

I thought both Bell's and New Glarus cherry stout were pretty terrible. Central Waters has always been kind of mediocre with their normal line up so I wouldn't be too excited for that either... not sure what your options are, sorry :/ Do a search through the BA database?

Not a Stout, but Ommegang Three Philosophers comes to mind. A quad with cherries.

Lindley Park; but that's a raspberry based stout (think chocolate covered raspberries). Tastes amazing, however.

edit - it's a seasonal offering from Olde Hickory; and you'd have to trade for it now.

This beer made me want to throw up. Must have been my personal tastes and that particular combination.

I thought it was very good, but certainly much more cherry and much less stout. If I went in to it dead set on a stout with cherries, I might be disappointed.

Yeah, I think I was overwhelmed. Drain pour for me.

I believe...Bell's Cherry Stout is still available in my area. I've picked it up and put it back a few times now, but maybe its time to give it a shot. I'm all for cherry anything, so who knows.

I like Bell's version. Doesn't matter, they aren't making it this year due to cherry availability/yield.

Yes, the culinary (tart) cherry crop was wiped out due to the warm weather followed by a freeze.

OP inspired me to spend the $16 for last season's Bell's Cherry Stout.
