    Greetings!
My wife and I are leaving for a trip this Thursday to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We are Michigan residents and avid beer, wine and mead fans. I love nearly all styles of beer but am especially fond of sours. I've scoured the "Beer Travel Guide" and honestly, I'm a bit overwhelmed. It looks like there are many good breweries in the places we are visiting and only a limited amount of time to visit them. I am hoping you can give me some must-see beer, wine and mead destinations. My itinerary looks like this:
7/3: Traveling from Michigan to Ithaca, NY, Planning to visit Ithaca Beer Co.
7/4-7/5: We are staying in Newton, MA and visiting Boston and Rhode Island. All I have scheduled for these two days is to visit Jack's Abby. I am a huge fan of lagers and feel they are largely ignored by the craft brewers of America.
7/6: Traveling to Portland, ME for the night. We plan to visit Moonlight Meadery, Maine Mead Works, Allagash Brewing and Maine Beer Co.
7/7-7/10: Acadia National Park. I am at a loss for what to do beer-wise while we're camping at Acadia.
7/11-7/13: Mt. Washington, NH: Visiting Hill Farmstead, Lawsons and trying to pick up some Heady Topper. We are also going to stop for dinner at Ebenezer's Pub.
7/14: Cooperstown, NY and a visit to Brewery Ommegang.
Am I missing any must-stop destinations in these areas? Are any of the places I plan to visit not really worth the stop? Can anyone suggest any killer bottle shops?
Thank you for all of your suggestions. Cheers!

On your way to Mt Washington (from Maine) stop by Ebenezers in Lovell (not far off route 302). Also, Novare Res is a must while in Portland.

EDIT: sorry, got excited when I thought you missed ebeneezers, good plan, you got it

Also, lawsons is not open to the public, you can look on their website to see what stores get their beer and when they get delivered.

If you like sours, we (Night Shift Brewing) usually have a few on tap/in bottles at any given time. We are just outside Boston (only 1 mile away) and are open 7 days a week! We will be closed July 4th. Enjoy your trip!

Favorites of mine off the top of my head.

MA stops, looks like you will be heading in from the west on the pike. So Tree House, Armsby Abbey, Wormtoen, Julio's. In Boston are Trillium, Row 34, and Lord Hobo

ME Novare, Bier Cellar, There are 3 other breweries in the same industrial park as Allagash. Also is you head to MBC in Freeport. If you have time grab bottles and bring them to the Haraseket its a seafood place on a dock. BYOB really cool setup

If you are up near Mt Wash in NH The Moat is up there

Sorry for no descriptions but if you search on BA you'll get addresses hours and if they are stores, bars, or breweries

when they are in Portland most of the other breweries will be closed sunday/ Monday it seems are bad for such things. its a pity that you are going to Acadia on Monday through Wednesday as you wouldn't be too far from Oxbow which when it is open is awesome. moonlight meaderry was too sweet for me whereas maine mead works rocked.
you say you are going to be in NH mount washington and visiting the Vermont breweries. there is no easy or quick way from there to visit hill farmstead or be in the right place to get Heady or Lawsons. I would stay in VT to get VT beers NH for NH beers.

Thanks for the tip. I'm bummed to hear most of the breweries in Portland will be closed while we're in town. We made reservations near Mt. Washington knowing that the Hill Farmstead trip would be a day trip with a drive. I plan to try to get some Heady and Lawsons on the way through Vermont going home.

Thank you all for the responses. This gives me somewhere to start my research on the absolute must-see destinations, at least the ones that will be open when I am passing through. There's so much beer and so little time.

I can get some Huma but Key Lime and Bloody Beer are seasonals and not available at this time. I'll see what's at the beer stores and let you know. Cheers!

Where in Newton are you staying the 4th? There aren't a huge number of places, but there is the new Brew on Premesis Hopsters. They serve their own brews (I think) plus a great selection of local beers.
For stores, there's Gordon's and Marty's, both with plenty of local and not-so-local choices.
THere's also going to be town fireworks Friday night, (weather permitting, I believe)

Thanks for the tips! These are all great suggestions. We will definitely be stopping at Haraseket for lunch. That place looks like exactly the kind of seafood joint I'd love to visit!

Just to clarify go to The Harraseeket Lunch ans Lobster Co. Not the Inn. Get the lobster bisque. It has more meat than liquid. Plus its $5 I think. Gotta go around back to get steamed items + chowder and bisque. I have also seen twin lobsters with corn for $17 there. Its a gem, buy not close to a secret. It can get pretty crowded.

Also if you travel 20min west to Lewiston you can hit up Baxter. Their everyday lineup is solid. Nothing mind blowing. But small batch stuff is well worth trip. I had a DIPA last week that was awesome. Plus I have never seen it too crowed. Also in Lewiston is The Vault. It's an above average bottle shop with a small selection.

Yes, not The Harraseeket Inn. OK, but expensive.
When you're at Acadia, there's Atlantic Brewing Company and Bar Harbor Brewing Company. I've eaten at The Lompoc Café, good food and a decent beer selection

In addition to Moonlight Meadery and Maine Mead Works, you could be on the lookout for some Sap House Mead from Ossippee, NH. I think it's probably fairly easy to find on your drive through the Whites.

I haven't made it to Schilling Beer Company in Littleton, NH, yet, but I've heard great things and if you're a fan of lagers, then they might be worth checking out as they focus on traditional continental European styles. Another brewery that you shouldn't miss if you like sours is Cambridge Brewing Company (CBC) right outside Boston. They have an excellent sour program, and usually have one or two on-tap.

Finally, if you want to add cider to the list of beer, wine and mead, I'd recommend looking for some Farnum Hill Cider from Lebanon, NH. It's fairly easy to find around New England, especially in stores. It's dry, made from traditional cider apples, and blows every other cider I've ever tried clear out of the water.

    Enjoy your trip!
