They're all listed at the brewpub but you can't pick up until Friday.

Maybe I'm being obtuse, but not quite sure what this means. Will they not have the beers on their website available for curbside pickup like they did last week? At this point the only option is to go to the brewpub and get them?

With COVID everything changes quickly - your best bet is to check their social media each day or to call them. They posted yesterday (Sunday):
"The Revolution Brewpub will be closed immediately, as another non-customer-facing employee at Revolution has tested positive for COVID-19. The health and safety of our staff and customers remain our number one priority. The Brewpub will remain closed until further notice, and we'll share any reopening information when we have it. Contact-free curbside pickup will be available at Brewery at 3340 N. Kedzie seven days a week, from noon - 7 p.m. Thanks again for your support and your understanding."

However, the Brewpub has Deth's Tar and Cafe Deth at the Brewpub for delivery through GrubHub, with next delivery available on 11/2. So you have to assume those will be available at the Brewpub as well, whenever it opens up.
BUT these two will also see WIDE distro and should be most places in the Chicagoland area by the end of this week, and everywhere in the Chicagoland area by the end of next week.

Thick body, not too sweet, and big maple presence contradict each other a bit unfortunately. You kind of have to sacrifice one of the three.

All plans are a little thrown off because
but the rest of our inventory will get released REAL soon, once we have the staff all set to facilitate it to you. Maybe even some other things.

I'll play devil's advocate here...perhaps the base beer could be thicker & more substantial, since you're cutting it with maple and don't want to overload it on that end.

My point could be dumb, but as someone who's never brewed a beer but loves drinking them, this was my take-away.

Again, I like this beer...I didn't need more maple sweetness, so I think the base beer being a bit beefier would have taken it to the next level.

I think Revolution makes the best barrel aged beers in the country right now. I'm not trying to be argumentative, but I do think that this isn't a top 10 Deep Woods beer. Can you blame me for thinking that Rev could make the impossible, possible? I've been spoiled by this series.

I haven't had Maple Deth, but am confused by the comments of people saying the beer is thin. Maple syrup isn't thinner than beer, it is syrupy. What am I missing- how is adding thick, syrupy maple syrup going to make the beer thinner?

Sticking with my Pick 2 concept...adding more body would, in this circumstance, add sweetness/perceived sweetness and risk putting it in the "too sweet" camp once you add the maple syrup. It's good questions and stuff I didn't know a whole lot about, not being a homebrewer either, until I sat behind the camera with Jim and Marty so many times and picked their brain.

For the record, I love Maple Syrup but don't enjoy it in beer myself. I want to on paper, but rarely want to drink more than a taster of them. So my order of preference this year is Deth's Tar, with Cafe a tight second, then Maple. I think Deth's Tar at its price is a steal, but I'm bias of course.

You can contact REV and let them know you'll pick up. They'll refund shipping. Need to contact them myself and verify they did so since I picked up my set of 2 with my Maple Deth. The glassware is $$$ by the way. Love them.

@BeerCruncher For the benefit of everyone else too, will there be Saturday pickup for the rest of the Deep Woods releases? I know the Deth's Tar usually has two days for the release but not the others and are just Fridays. Thanks!

Yes, Saturday pick-ups are absolutely part of the plan for many reasons, including people who work weekdays. I think that's how it was for Supermassive/Mixed Berry/Thundertaker, but sometimes you all are better than I am at remembering so correct me if I'm wrong. Traffic is a real pain on Fridays so those afternoon pickups can be craziness, but Saturdays it runs so smoothly cause nobody's out and the street is clear.

An interview with Guy Fawkes, conducted by Guy Fawkes.

Q: Guy, did you solo dome a crowler of Deth's Tar Single Barrel 560 on a Tuesday?
A: Yes, I did. Thank you for asking.

Q: Do you think this is something an adult should be doing?
A: (chuckling) Oh no. This is the sign of a big problem. No, not something anyone should be doing, at any age, really. (chuckles again, distantly)

    Q: How's the beer?
A: ABSOLUTE FUDGE BOMB with nice barrel, mild bourbon and some muted cream/vanilla accents that really elevate this. An absolute dream of a beer.

Yeah, even as fast as they are filling orders and with people proxying for others there's no way they could do that sort of volume in one day. The explanation I was given last year for why all releases weren't two days was the extra staffing they needed to handle the combo of can sales and taproom traffic.

Does anyone have an idea of how long Rev will hold a curbside order for?

Driving in from Michigan to grab Prop allotment on 11/8 (FMB, I know) and would like to place a Deth order if possible. Couldn't find anything on the website with respect to pick up timing.

I don’t know the answer to your first question, but I doubt regular Deth’s Tar or cafe will be sold out by then. Could order the night before, or a local Binny’s will probably have some still

I’d like to weigh in on Maple deth as well. I feel like this is a you either love it or hate it kind of beer based on what people are saying in this thread. Not hearing much middle ground on this one. I think the balance between the stout, the maple syrup, & the maple syrup barrels is on spot point. I think it’s a great effort from Revolution. I think it’s maple syrup barrel notes are quite unique in this beer too; you really taste the maple syrup barrels. Tasting a honey & vanilla with an earthy rich maple flavor & smooth barrel notes. Texture is silky and creamy, I don’t find it thin at all.

I'd push back on this a bit. It's a "love it or really like it" beer. No one here is saying they hate it; some think it's great, and some think it's really good.

For what it's worth (yes I still type this out, I'm 40), I had another tonight and I'm drifting from the "really like it" to the "love it" camp.

The more time I give it to warm up, the more I find to love. At room temperature the maple really expresses itself in a balanced but assertive way. My initial can was so agreeable that I drank it too quickly to let it develop from "chilled" to "warm".
