It is! Where did you find it? I drank through all my 4 packs of it already and wouldn't mind finding more out in the wild...

Central Ave. Liquors in NE Minneapolis. Solid store if anyone visits here.

Coconut Deth was around for quite awhile when Revolution came to MN. I just have never seen any singles.

I love a little crazy, but wish it was available in the fall as opposed to winter.

Thought worthy news, the awesome Deep Woods prints are on sale right now, $25 each. I love saving, but I fear this means the series won’t be completed.

I bought a DT and a Cafe when they released. Surprised these weren't more popular. Oh well. Good on Rev for trying something different.

For those who haven't tried Infinity Hero yet, it's definitely worthwhile especially for the price.

I think they're awesome and I'm very tempted. I just don't actually have a place where they would even go...

So to update. I thought I would go with tiers vs a straight ranking:

    Tier 1: DB VSOJ
    Tier 2: SJ, Boss, Thundertaker
Tier 3: Ryeway, Lumberstruck, VSO Dark Mode
    Tier 4: Cafe, Coconut
    Tier 5: Deth, Currants

    Tier 1= Elite status
Tier 2 = Can never have enough 4 packs
Tier 3 = Thoroughly enjoyed, but no need to buy extras
Tier 4 = No regrets, but impartial to revisit
Tier 5 = Rev set the bar so high, it’s no fault, but their own.

There's a spot between tier 2 and 3 where I'd place a lot of the 22-23 lineup (2 or more 4 packs). I'd put Currants, Coconut, and Cafe lower (tier 3) and DBVSOJ higher (elite). Have Ryeway as the overall second best this year, but I haven't cracked a Boss yet.

Hit the taproom last night with my homebrew club and had a nice time. Had a few pilsners, Thundertaker (still amaze), but one beer that took me aback was the last one I had...
Cold Time - Light lager, but amazed me with the clean fermentation character, fantastic malty note and the sheer drinkability. I was rushed out so I didn't grab a crowler... next time tho.

@BeerCruncher clean lager brand when?!

Anyone else see @BeerCruncher IG story of the Library Lotto Box label? 15 mystery Deep Wood beers all in one box ranging from 2018-2021.

Taking bets now on what we think the MSRP will be. I say (hope) $150.

That makes more sense. 4 random cans picked from 15 different options.

How much were these last time they did it? Trying to search their socials and just see them doing limit 2 but not saying price.

EDIT: found a comment that said $50

DBVSOJ has been excellent, 2 cans into my haul, but has anyone had any cans that have foamed over on opening them and the head fizzing away rapidly?

A friend I had given a can to had a similar experience, he had his before I had my second and relayed what had happened. He feared infection. Both of us had left the can out for a bit from the fridge, 30-45 minutes. His gushed over the glass, mine gushed from the can without it even being fully cracked.

This wasn’t the case with my first can.

Nothing off flavor wise for either of us, but wanted to see if anyone experienced the same recently.

One can in here and nothing like that at all for myfirst go. I believe Rev flash pasteurizes, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong there.

With the quickly dissipating head, could be any number of things. If it's a handwashed glass, likely a non-issue, but I have some stemlesss wine glasses I use on occasion when I don't feel like making more handwashed dishes for myself as I run them through the dishwasher. If I don't rinse them before use, the residue from the detergent and/or spot free rinse kills any head quickly.

Based on my experience, if the head started off great but rapidly fizzed away, the can probably got married.

Try resting a can on a bed of Jell-O for at least 6 hours before removing from the refrigerator. Should do the trick.

While it's not actually important what flavor you use, I find that the packaging dates have a significant impact on the stability of the Jell-O product. The popular flavors, like strawberry, usually move more quickly and have the freshest dates. Banana, on the other hand, can languish for a long time. Don't ever use the sugar-free stuff, it doesn't hold up at all.

The singular release of V.S.O. Gravedigger comes on April 14th, alongside a new set of Library Lotto Boxes and Coconut Deth for sale.

Take a sojourn into the Deep Wood with Revolution Brewing. V.S.O. Gravedigger, our Bourbon barrel-aged Scotch Ale, emerges from a very long slumber next month. After a little over two years in premium barrels, the delicate smokiness and American oak and bourbon character of this wee heavy only grew in bravado. The solo release will be accompanied by a huge haul from our library, including the return of our mystery Lotto Boxes and a restock of our sold out Coconut Deth (2022) four-packs on Friday, April 14th at our Taproom on Kedzie Avenue. Kilts optional.

V.S.O. Gravedigger online presales will begin on Tuesday, April 11th for pickup beginning Friday, April 14th.

I am very stoked for this! Hope the smokiness isn’t muted too much from the extensive aging.

I don't really remember Billy ever being smoky, was it? I had the 2022 release "fresh" as well as a couple more times over 6 or more months.

Scotch ales are not Scotch. They shouldn't be smokey. If anything this beer might have some smokiness from the extended aging in a charred barrel.

EDIT: HOWEVER regular Gravedigger Billy is described as having a smokiness sooooooo....

"An old favorite from the early days of Revolution makes a return. This bourbon barrel-aged Scotch Ale, decked out in a fine tartan kilt, has a delicate smokiness alongside American oak and bourbon character. Pour a wee dram and let the brogue fly. Don’t be daft, enjoy now or store cold."

    From the 22 release:

This particular vintage uses two different batches composed of sweet and dry components. In addition to dark malt, traditional German smoked malt and beechwood smoked malt were used, but it only comprised about 11% of the malt bill.

I wonder if this is where the divide between Scotch Ale and Wee Heavy comes from. I always just thought the terms were interchangeable but maybe the addition of smoked malt makes a Wee Heavy a Scotch Ale.

It's not smoky like a rauchbier, but it's always had a bit of a hint of smokiness.
Gravedigger billy is certainly a variation on the style and not a traditional scotch ale.

On one hand I find this cultural appropriated portrayal of Scottish people as drunken warmongering heathens highly offensive, but on the other hand I applaud the gender fluid zombie clothing choice...

I'd put Gravedigger Billy at about a 4 or 5 out of 10. I haven't tasted this one yet, but I wouldn't expect it any higher, if anything a bit lower.
