I find that a good Riesling is one of the most refreshing wines in wine land.

This one hits my palate particularly well. Lovely fruitiness.

Riesling hits the target with spicy Asian dishes.
Unfortunately my go-to is gone, last produced over two years ago. Columbia Winery Cellarmaster's Riesling. Made with late harvest grapes it was on the cusp of a dessert wine.

Hmm...a Riesling with a good hot Indian or Thai curry. Sounds right up my alley.

It's a pretty classic pairing. Back in the day, when I worked at a wine store in Memphis, we would often gets questions from customers regarding what wine to pair with Indian or Szcechuan food (there weren't any Thai restaurants, so no one asked about that). Our stock answer was to go with a full flavored lager like St. Pauli Girl or Tsingtao, but if you had to drink wine, then a good German kabinett or spatlese was your next best option.

Gew├╝rztraminer is also another great option for curries, Thai, Indian, or "spicy" dishes...
