I concur. The times I use sriracha over taco/hot sauce is when I want that garlic flavor. Spicy garlic flavor mixed with roasted malts????? Uhhhhhh, no.

Rogue should focus on making good beer.

Southern Charred is Stone Double Bastard aged in bourbon barrels and freshly charred oak barrels. Had nothing to do with Sriracha.

Sriracha sauce is possibly my favorite hot sauce, but, ehhhhh...this doesn't sound too appetizing.

I'll try it at the right price. In other words, I probably won't try it. Their bombers go for up to $12, their growlers are in the $18 range, and their 5 liter mini kegs are ridiculously priced at $30. Is Rogue really that arrogant, or are their consumers all money bags? I like a lot of Rogue beers but rarely if ever drink them because of their absolutely stupid price point. Way to drive away customers Rogue.

Because Sriracha isn't just hot peppers. There's tomatoes and vinegar in there too. And why would I want tomatoes and vinegar in a stout? A sriracha sour would make more sense (not a whole lot, because hot sauce doesn't actually belong in beer at all, but work with me here). Perhaps an oyster stout with sriracha would make sense. But come on. Can we not?

I'm not interested in this because I hate Sriracha.. but if this was Founders or another brewery, everyone would most likely consider it "genius" and a must try.. haha just saying..

Just. No. I don't care if it was made by the Westy monks. I enjoy certain beers w fruit/etc additives, but ffs, at some point, what's the point?

Love the pepper stouts. But as others noted, the garlic, salt and vinegar aspects don't sound appealing.

Soooo, I actually had this beer on tap at Issaquah Brewing, (a Rogue Nation brewery) in Washington last month. I thought it was phenomenal! It should be known that I like chili beers, and seek them out, but still hold them to a high standard.

This stout had great heat. It still had most of the identifying qualities of a stout while separately being a chili beer as opposed to trying to be both and falling short. Think of it more as a great food pairing instead of a food dish that tries to be more than it should. Also, as a fan of Sriracha, one can taste the garlic notes and such come through in the heat that will set it apart as a Sriracha beer, not just a chili stout.

The staff handed out a card to ask opinions on it, for which I was very thorough, as I didn't realize it could be done so well. It's safe to say, it exceeded expectations.
