Sacramento, CA (October 2012) - Wow, where did the time go? Sacramento’s oldest brewery is turning 25 on November 2nd. Rubicon will be celebrating this very big birthday with a week-long party, starting on Monday October 29 going through Sunday, November 4th. Friday, November 2nd will mark the release of Rubicon’s special-edition single-malt, single-hop IPA, brewed with the ever-popular cascade hops and great western two row malted barley. This is special because Rubicon was one of the first breweries in the United States to use an IPA as their flagship beer. The Anniversary Beer Release Party is just one feature of the celebration; BBQ specials, guest bartenders, and unbeatable discounts will also be part of the festivities. Glynn Phillips, owner of Rubicon Brewery is excited about the anniversary celebration, “We have planned this week of parties and fun to thank our loyal customers that have supported us during the last 25 years. We hope to be around 25 years from now to celebrate our 50th anniversary.” A new brewery is now under construction in West Sacramento, due to open around the first of the year. This brewery is being built to accommodate the increasing demand for Rubicon’s beer. A portion of the proceeds from this week-long celebration will benefit the Angelman’s Syndrome Foundation. Angelman’s Syndrome is a neuro-genetic disorder that affects one in 15,000 births. ###
