So I have a friend going to San Francisco in a couple weeks. He said he will be passing by RR and is going to get some PTE for me (and he doesn't even drink much craft, what a waste). I was wondering what else should I get from RR. Lets assume I can only get one other kind. Also, if for some reason he didn't make it out there, are their any beer stores in the San Francisco area that would have it freshly in stock. I'm sure I could check the Top 100 list, but I like the feedback vs. a list.
    Thanks for the help!

I like blind pig over PtE though they're both damn good and also their sours are really good. Personally I like Sanctification with a year on it and then supplication the best but will happily drink any of them. If he can, he should also grab you a growler of row 2 hill 56...that beer is money.

If Beatification is still available (brewery only), that is the one I would get. Other sours (Consecration, Supplication, Temptation, Sanctification) are more widely available, even up here in Seattle.

Beat won't be available. They have very, very little left at this point.

Yeah, a growler of Row 2 will make you a very happy person.

I'm not sure about any growlers, They'll be flying and I don't want them to have to worry about all that. He's also not leaving for about two weeks so Beat won't be there. I have also been trying to get into sours lately (they're a rare breed here in AL) so some good sours might take second billing. Loving the suggestions though.

For sours any of the BA one are great. I haven't had Sanctification (100% brett non-BA). Don't bother with the Belgians. If you can tell him to get both PtE and BP. If you can only get one of the sours, unless you really like brett, I'd go with supplication or consecration (in that order but either choice is great).

If he does go into a bottle shop or Whole foods try to get him to pick up a bottle of New Belgium La Folie or Rodenbach grand cru (if you can't get it there).

Theres still a decent amount left. I don't know if it will last a couple weeks, but it very well might.

I'd recommend Blind Pig for an IPA and Supplication and Consecration for sours. Not Damnation or Redemption.

If your friend doesn't make the trip to RR, he can get Pliny in SF along with the rest of RR's other regulars. City Beer Store and Jug Shop both get fresh Pliny every Wednesday.

If someone lives in the area I would be interested in some Beatifcation. BM if you would be interested!

Definitely get as much Blind Pig as you can, I feel like it's rarer than Pliny these days (and just as good). Sanctification is on shelves in the area and is an amazing Brett beer, but not quite a sour. Also grab any bottles of Damnation Batch 23 if they're still around. Temptation is also great if you like Brett.

If anyone noticed this week on there website, they had Beat on tap for a hot minute. Which batch could of it been?? Lucky I got my 2 bottles almost 2 weeks ago.

Get bottles of Supplication. Temptation has been out for a month or so at the brewery in both bottles and on tap, but if it's back you should get a bottle of that. If any Beatification is left that would be my top choice. Get at least 1 Blind Pig to try next to Pliny to see the massive taste difference.

Hopefully your friends have plenty of room. Another option is that they could go to bottle barn and get a 12 or 6 bottle shipper and send you a package if they are extra nice.

As noted in another thread, this was a typo and was supposed to be Benediction, which is their (really good) Dubbel, which they just put on this week.

Get Sanctification in bottles while you can -- it's excellent with a year on it. Supplication has really come into its own in the last few batches -- went from my least favorite of the sours to my favorite regular. Agree with everyone else to skip the "ordinary" Belgians (Salvation, Damnation, or Redemption). They're fine, but don't justify the high price point in the same way the sours and IPAs do. Damnation 23 is a different story, and one of my very favorite of their beers.

I was at City Beer when the RR guy showed up on Wednesday, and he said they were running pretty low on Blind Pig so a lot of accounts weren't getting any this week. Things will probably be back to normal in 1-2 weeks though.
