Trying to find a good Saison/Farmhouse that's available in Chicago. I'd like to avoid anything too funky, but want to get friends interested in a different style since the area is so flooded with Hefes and IPAs.

    Whatcha got?

Great Divide Colette is exceptional. Boulevard makes a great one too

I'm honor-bound to preface this by letting you know that I work for Revolution Brewing, but even if I didn't I would heartily recommend Revolution's Coup D'Etat Saison. It has the rustic, sophisticated characteristics you want from a saison without beating you over the head with too much yeasty funk. And it's local! But in the interest of not being a complete shill I'll second Colette as well...Great Divide makes some good juice.

In that case I'm honor bound to let you know that you're my favorite brewery right now, and I'm from Kalamazoo so you've even surpassed Bells in my opinion. Coup D'Etat is great and I'll likely use that as one of them.

Prairie Artisan Ales from Oklahoma is supposed to come to Chicago this month. They specialize in saisons.

Tank 7, Sofie, Coup D'Etat, Hennepin... all great options, but why not start them off with the classic Saison Dupont ?

    For bang-for-your-buck, I'd reach for a Boulevard Tank 7 4pk.

    Biere de Garde.

Something truly Chicago unique are the Pipeworks Saisons. Hanging around a few places still.

Many good suggestions above and you can never go wrong with some RevBrew.

I would add that I have a particular fancy for the Hinterland Saison. I also like that this comes in a 4 pack of 16 ounce bottles.

FFF Rabbid Rabbit should be out soon. That got me into Saisons. Stateside by Stillwater is probably #2 on my list. Coup by Revolution is solid. Sofie is an alltime favorite beer of any style for me. Saison Dupont is also great.

I have no idea which of the 10 or so beers on BA are new or old, so thanks.

So right now, Standard, Somewhere, Funky Galaxy, and Merica are in Chicago. By the end of the month I hope to send Ale, Hop, and Okie. It depends on what River North is willing to pick up. They might also be holding product for Craft Beer week, not 100% sure on the plan. There is a good chance I'll be up there for that.
