Saw this after the fact and only 100 cases of each beer has me rethinking things..might just stay home and enjoy all the delicious beer i already have in the fridge:slight_smile:

And they just announced they open at 8, I could see NP having a problem with it but could this be the first time we see tired hands style chair lines?

I find their choices on this release to be extremely odd.

They probably made the beer without realizing it was cow harbor and don't have the space to sit on it.

This release currently makes zero sense. Open at 8am, cans at 4? Also tapping their casks at 4 but cans arent being sold out of the taproom? There will be such limited parking throughout the day why wouldnt they just release the beers at 10/11 if they open at 8am?

Can release temp staffing. Parking will be at its worst in the morning. Opening at 8 to get the Cow Harbor business...

That would then make them completely unaware business owners which they are not. They 100% knew about Cow Harbor.

That run has been going on for years, they certainly knew about it. And like one poster already said, there were signs in town last Saturday saying that roads would closed this weekend.

All-in-all, why not just wait until Sunday?

maybe they didn't realize it was this weekend, were the signs up the week before when they would have brewed the beer? It seems like they'd like to stay semi under the radar so i point more towards not planned,

I was up there last Saturday and the town had signs up about the race and roads being closed.

I don't give a good shit what they do or don't do, that's up to them. They want to have a Cow Harbor run party, good for them. That run has been going on for decades, so it's not like it's a new run. It's a tough race from what I've heard. Can't go tomorrow anyway.

They definitely knew the race was this weekend. It has been planned for months and runs every year. They are locals and I'm sure know plenty of people who compete in it. There is zero chance they did not know it was this weekend.

I never criticize SC as I think their beers are some of the best in the state and their current model of can releases makes it available to all. They do mid week releases, announced and unannounced, and weekend releases. They change the times during the week. Literally cater to everyone they can.

However, I just think waiting till Sunday could have been a smarter move.

I dont own the brewery. They do and they know what they are doing.

That makes sense then. I'm guessing 4pm was logical because the streets are probably closed until 1ish today and the 4pm time gives people a better chance to drive into Northport and the town a chance to clear the streets. It's gonna be crowded, the brewery and the town, regardless.

Line is manageable at the moment. Probably about 50 people.
